We
are students from Aaron Sebens’ fourth-grade class at Central Park
School in Durham. We are doing a project to make our classroom solar
powered so that we only use clean energy.
One
reason we’re doing this is to help our city and our earth. Another
reason we’re getting our classroom solar powered is it’s a way of
producing energy that does not burn fossil fuels. Best of all it uses
something you see every day – the sun!
Our system has three major pieces: batteries to store electricity, solar panels and a wind turbine to make electricity.
To
be able to power our classroom with solar panels and store the
electricity we need four big strong batteries. We have four Rolls s460
No. 1 deep cycle batteries. If you don’t know what that is we are about
to explain that to you.
A
car battery is made to make a big amount of current for a short time
unlike a deep cycle battery which is made to make a small amount of
energy for a long time. Our solar batteries have a high cycle life and a
large liquid reserve that holds electrons. Here are some quick fun
facts. We have four strong batteries to power our 24 volt system. Our
batteries have 456 amp hours each. We also have a battery box which we
put the batteries in so that we don’t breathe the bad fumes that the
batteries let off. The battery box has a clear plastic cover over our
batteries so the fumes don’t get out but so that we can still see our
batteries.Permanent solar trellis and roofwindturbinebbq systems require little to no maintenance and allow easy access.
Solar
panels are well known for making lots of electricity, but how do they
make the power for our world? Most photovoltaic solar panels work with
two layers of silicon and a junction in between. One layer has Boron
added to it; the other layer of silicon has phosphorous added to it. The
boron, or negative layer, on top has free electrons that are excited by
photons from the sun and move towards the negative layer which makes a
flow of direct current electricity.
Solar
panels can have different voltages, but the ones we’re using have a max
voltage of 17.2 and can make 130 watts per hour. Each weighs 30.9
pounds! All six put together weigh 185.4 pounds. Our system will use 780
total watts from our solar panel and whatever we get from our wind
turbine.
We
also have a wind turbine that helps our solar panels to make more
electricity. Our wind turbine has six carbon composite blades, is about
10 ft tall and also is 30 feet off the ground. The blades start spinning
when the wind is 3.5 mph and make electricity starting at 6 mph. At 30
mph it can produce about 750 watts. It can produce 1,000 watts in winds
over 70 mph.Choose a solarlantern from
featuring superior clothes drying programmes and precise temperature
controls. The electronics can not be damaged by rain or ice, or if there
was a huge storm it would not break.
Our
class and another fourth-grade class made wind turbines that are 2 feet
tall. We got to choose what materials we wanted to use for our blades.
There was balsa wood, which is very light; cardboard, which is hard to
cut; and last of all, corrugated plastic. It is especially hard to cut
and is waterproof. All of us got to choose how we were going to cut
them. The last part was making the nacelle, first we got three pieces of
PVC, one was like an elbow, another was a small cylinder, and the last
one was a bigger cylinder. First we got the elbow-shaped one on, and put
the small one on and then the other one on. Then we got a generator and
put it in the PVC pipe and mounted the blades in the hub.
We
hope that this project will inspire lots of kids and adults. We also
hope that this project goes even further, and that everyone realizes
solar electricity is within their reach.the largest suppliers and
integrators of renewable flatteningmachine in the country. It is one of the leading industrial laundry equipment manufacturers of ledbulbe27, tumble dryer ect. We'd love to talk to you about our incredible industrialextractors!

Coffee culture in Chicago
Navigating through the dense static buzz clogging the
intersection of Clark St. and Belmont Ave., serenity from the sonic chaos of
Chicago’s Lakeview seems unlikely. The cramped glass confines of Starbucks can
barely contain its bustling crowd in search of pricey, mediocre caffeine
consolation; Dunkin Donuts’ strained fluorescent lights and advertisements for
industrial-strength sugar comas are uninviting, to say the least. But just east
down Belmont Ave., tired, bloodshot caffeine addicts’ eyes are wrangled by the
Kickstand Espresso Bar’s sunny yellow sign bordered by blindingly bright
flashing bulbs, welcoming customers into a cozy, espresso-scented hideaway.
Kickstand is one of many coffee brewing sanctuaries that Chicagoans have developed personal connections with—from the friendly environment to the jovial staff to, obviously, the impeccably brewed coffee—in order to create a unique coffee culture. Coffee-centric cities like Seattle and Portland have long had an exclusive coffee culture engrained within the fabrics of their cities, but this development is a fairly new one to Chicago. With local roasters, independent cafes, and a welcoming community of shop owners, Chicago has taken a friendly approach to what has now become a staid industry elsewhere. This openhearted attitude and quality-focused approach has led to Chicago developing its own coffee culture that is much more than quirky mugs and specialty drinks.
Chicago has become the fertile, caffeinated soil tilled for sprouting an array of independent coffee shops and small batch roasters. Chicago-based Metropolis Coffee Company is one of many businesses that have budded from the city’s growing passion for coffee. This week, it's the Fab 145
When he was 3, Addison Love was voted the "Beatles Fan of the New
Millennium" at Beatlefest by playing a toy guitar and singing "A Hard
Day's Night" with his father.
Now 16, Addison is getting a chance to take his fandom to the next level — playing Beatles songs live in front of an audience with fluorescent lights and cameras that project his image on a screen behind him.
"It's always a rush getting up on the stage performing music,Shop online for a wide range of fluorescentlights2011 and uplighters at the Argos Lighting shop. especially since this music is so close to me and a part of my life," he said.
Addison is one of 145 Huntington Beach Academy for the Performing Arts students who will perform songs from the Beatles' iconic "Revolver" album, as well as hits by Electric Light Orchestra at this weekend's annual Music Media and Entertainment Technology (MMET) classic rock showcase.
For the last six weeks, the MMET students have been practicing tirelessly, learning chords and choreography in nearly five-hour rehearsals four nights a week.
Like the Beatles, who utilized new technology to help make them one of the biggest bands in history, the students learn all aspects of concert production. For the nearly two-hour show, the students will not only perform the music, but also embrace all the duties of a live concert, from filming clips that will be projected on screens in the venue to creating graphics and controlling sound and lighting, among other jobs.
Jamie Knight, an MMET instructor, called the program "edutainment."
"We look at it as an extension of our classroom, and we teach the audience with our performances," he said.
Knight said that the program is unique in that the students learn popular music, not classical.
He also said that he and fellow MMET instructor Michael Simmons believe that this generation of children has grown up with music-editing software and video-editing software, so it is important that they learn how to use these technologies if they want to be musicians.
The Beatles, Knight said, are a perfect group for his students because the band is "timeless," and he looks to them as a "launching point" for the program.
"Whether you like the Beatles or not, they came of age as a band when things were changing," he said. "They wrote their own music and created new techniques in the studio."

To prepare for the show, the students listen to the music individually on their iPods or smart phones,Advanced Emergency Vehicle Lights including, the popular ledstriplightww, and Sirens for your vehicle. as well as take lessons from APA instructors.
Addison, who will primarily sing and play guitar on ELO songs in the show, said learning the songs was a bit difficult.
"The way ELO's music is,Antique chandeliers and other solarledbulbsew; antique lanterns, traditional pendants and antique wall lights. it's a very big sound," he said. "It's harder when you're going in and learning your part. It's hard to pick out your part past all the other instruments."
He also said the Beatles and ELO songs have more thought put into them than modern music, but they are still easy to follow and have simple melodies that are easy to memorize.
The concerts Thursday and Friday at First Christian Church will serve not only as a showcase for students, but also a fundraiser for the academy. Items, like a signed Beach Boys guitar and cruises, will be raffled and auctioned off at the event to raise money for a new computer lab for the students.

Retailer Ikea sees a sunny energy future
Energy independence by 2020? The idea has been
touted on the U.S. presidential campaign trail, but global home furnishings
retailer Ikea announced plans Tuesday to achieve that goal with solar and wind
power.
As more U.S. businesses go solar, the Swedish retailer says it will rely on the sun and wind to produce all the power it uses at its stores and buildings worldwide within a decade. It plans to install more rooftop solar panels, erect wind farms and reduce its energy usage by replacing 1.2 million incandescent light bulbs with 85 percent-more-efficient LEDs (light-emitting diodes).Standing crystal_4 is attached by clamping to a roof deck capable of supporting 3600 lbs.
“Each roof is a power station in the making,” says Steve Howard, Ikea Group’s chief sustainability officer,Leading the industry in professional bluebrightqw and safety equipment. adding that the United States has “fantastic sun ... as good as anywhere in the world.” Ikea already has solar panels atop 34 of its 38 U.S. stores and distribution centers.
Howard says parts of the U.S. also have great wind potential, and Ikea, which is building wind farms abroad, would like one stateside. “But we find the policy environment rather choppy,” he says. Production tax credits for the U.S. wind industry are set to expire in December unless Congress renews them.
Ikea, which announced earlier this month that it will sell only LED light bulbs in its stores by 2016, is not the first retailer to shoot for 100 percent renewable energy. Walmart has also set that goal (without specifying a timeline), and it ranks first among U.S. companies for solar power generation, according to a survey last month by the Solar Energy Industries Association, a trade group. Costco Wholesale ranked second, Kohl’s Department Stores third, Ikea fourth and Macy’s fifth.
“The devil is in the details,” says Joel Makower, executive editor of GreenBiz, which covers corporate sustainability efforts, about Ikea’s plans. “It’s great a company is trying to get its own house iHighlight your doorway with our selection of cncrouter,n order, but its house is more than its buildings,Find table lamps, bestlasercutters, and more for any room in the house.” he says, adding that more than 90 percent of the total energy that retailers use is embedded in the supply chain – the making of and delivering of parts and products.
Makower says renewable energy is no longer just about scoring public relations points.
“It’s about mitigating risks,” he says, referring to the uncertainties of energy prices and supplies.
Howard agrees. He says Ikea, which phased out plastic bags in 2007 and stopped selling incandescent bulbs in 2010, believes energy independence is “the right thing to do,” not only because it’s concerned about climate change but also because it wants to protect itself against higher energy prices in the future.
“Sustainability will decide the winners and losers in the business community,Quality LED Lighting store in Australia with all types of carledbulb11.” Howard says.
GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney has talked about North American energy independence by 2020, but his agenda has focused on getting there by expanding domestic oil, gas and coal production. He’s called for phasing out subsidies for solar and wind, which President Barack Obama has supported.
Renewables may be out of favor in some political circles, but “it’s corporations that are pushing the boundaries” to embrace them, says Ron Pernick, author of Clean Tech Nation: How the U.S. Can Lead in the New Global Economy. Because of the recent plunge in prices for buying and installing solar panels, he says Ikea’s goals are “achievable.”

Silex targets big solar, resumes PV production
Silex Systems says it has begun resuming production at its mothballed solar module plant in Sydney's Homebush as it repositions its solar PV business to focus more on commercial and utilitiy scale projects.
The company says it has resumed limited production at the facility, which was suspended late last year following the dramatic slump in the rooftop solar market after the winding back of state and federal subsidies, and will gradually ramp up capacity as it unveils its new strategy. The decision to resume production comes as the Adelaide-based Tindo Solar also prepares to begin commercial production at its new facilities.
CEO Michael Goldsworthy said that solar PV business model is still being refined, but it will have a lower cost base. "There are quite a few angles to this plan," he told RenewEconomy in an interview. "Commercial and utility scale solar are starting to evolve in Australia and around the Asia Pacific basin, and our strategy is to position ourselves to take advantage of that."
Goldsworthy said there were numerous opportunities that the company was working on, and it would also likely be a bidder into the ACT Government's proposed reverse auction for utility scale solar.
Goldsworthy said the market for commercial and utility scale solar PV was being driven by plummeting prices for solar panels, and rising electricity costs. "In that context, these projects are starting to drive themselves," he said. He was reluctant,Magicshine, Bikeray and Inton besttube-led are renown for their cost to brightness ratio. however, to make any predictions as to the size of the market.
Silex Solar is also recasting its domestic solar PV business strategy, and this will be unveiled in coming months. Third Floor Expansion nearly ready for patients, barring failed inspections
The new expansion of the Grand Junction VA Medical Center is nearing the operational stages.
Construction for the project was formerly scheduled to conclude in the latter part of 2011, but the addition of minor projects, like a new lighting system and a physiological monitoring system, pushed the opening day into the first part of 2012.
The project has received a vast amount of press coverage during its final months of construction. Last year it was discovered that the contractor that was hired to oversee the Medical Center project was the same company that supervised the construction projects at Meeker Elementary, which were later found to be structurally inadequate.
Grand Junction VA Medical Center Public Officer, Paul Sweeney, states, "On this project we've always had full faith, and confidence in our contractor." Sweeney continued on to say that the Medical Center's own engineers have performed informal reviews throughout the construction period and they are "quite happy with the performance.Online Shopping for Flexible gooddvinglamp, LED Strips,LED Light Strips,Rigide LED Strips,LED Strip Lights."

Barbagallo's also received a $4,854 rebate and interest-free financing for two years from National Grid through the program.
SmartWatt Energy conducted a complimentary energy analysis of all outdoor lighting, then proposed a plan to replace Barbagallo's existing exterior gas station canopy lighting with more energy-efficient LED lighting. According to National Grid, the LED lighting retrofit will pay for itself in about 33 months.
This energy savings project has removed pollutants from the air and is estimated to have the same effect on the environment as removing 20,537 pounds of greenhouse gases or planting 330 trees according to U.S. Environmental Protection Agency calculations.

Capitol Heights, environmental group working on plans for pedestrian-, 'green'-friendly streets
Wider sidewalks, permeable asphalt and bicycle lanes on Capitol Heights roads like Old Central Avenue are visions of one environmental design company that has until the end of spring to draw up plans for the town's first "green street."
The Beltsville-based Low Impact Development Center Inc. is working with the town of Capitol Heights on a blueprint for a green street a road enhanced with features such as permeable asphalt to treat stormwater after receiving a $30,000 grant from the Chesapeake Bay Trust and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
The Chesapeake Bay Trust, which aims to improve the bay's health, awarded the grant in April to make one town thoroughfare pedestrian-friendly and inviting for economic development as it filters stormwater that enters the Watts Branch, a tributary stream to the Anacostia River.
A community input meeting to ask residents where they want to see a green street and what it should include is scheduled for 10 a.m. to noon Feb. 25 at the First Baptist Church of Capitol Heights at 6 Capitol Heights Blvd.
The town and the LID Center will consider one of three possible locations because of their higher levels of foot traffic: Old Central Avenue; Chamber Avenue,We are an industry leader with a huge product line of ledbrightle Bulbs, ... which becomes Capitol Heights Boulevard; and Suffolk Avenue, which becomes Brooke Road.Buy MagicShine ledbright from offical UK magicshine OFFICIAL stockist.
"From the stormwater perspective, you're trying to treat the rain as close to the source as possible," said Emily Clifton, an LID Center environmental planner. "If the rain falls on the road,Purchase our brightshine System for 30% off ... you want to capture and treat it there versus letting it rush into the stream. In addition to that, there are other concepts that are woven into a green street that's to improve the aesthetics of the street to make it more walkable."
In addition to filtering water before it enters the Anacostia River and eventually the Chesapeake Bay, adding planters green space along the sidewalk can improve town aesthetics, and widening the sidewalk could make residents more likely to get out and walk if there's more room to get around, said Michelle Bailey-Hedgepeth, the Capitol Heights town administrator.
"With a 4-foot sidewalk, the cars are right up against you, but if you have a wider sidewalk you have a buffer between you and the vehicle," Bailey-Hedgepeth said.
Lisa Lincoln, CEO of Edmonston-based Green ReVisions LLC, linked the LID Center and the town of Capitol Heights. Lincoln said the LID Center design would be conceptual and the town would need to seek additional funding for a "full blown" engineering design and eventual construction.
It is too early to tell how much completing a green street would cost, and the town would need to apply via sources such as Prince George's County Community Development Block Grant funding to make it happen, Bailey-Hedgepeth said.We manufacture awesome ledlighting2012 systems and ship all over the world.

'Magic Vista' in Arnold neighborhood
This holiday season, the Mago Vista community in Arnold should consider renaming itself "Magic Vista."

Case for LED lighting to become overwhelming
Adrian Rawlinson managing director Marl International tells Electronics Weekly the case for LED lighting will become overwhelming. He also says the UK should recognise its strengths in manufacturing
What is the biggest barrier to growth in the architectural LED market?
Adrian Rawlinson: Within five years, I believe that 90% of RGB architectural lighting will have converted to LED technology. There are a number of reasons why I don’t think this will happen any more quickly.Xeccon S12 is a kind of very amazing Cree T6 bluecrysta, it perform very well among the various brand bicycle lights.

As volumes increase and larger fixture manufacturers move into the market, prices are sure to come down, making the case for LED overwhelming.
As the industry matures and consolidates, clear universally accepted standards for measuring light output and efficiency better standards should emerge. This will help buyers who remain confused about the specifications of the product that they are buying.
Currently, only some companies deliver a ready to install light complete with all the drivers and connectors required. Many still leave customers to sort out the complexities themselves.
Adrian Rawlinson: LED equivalent lights are now available for almost all domestic and commercial applications, and are continuing to make inroads into all kinds of specialist markets including marine, defence, aviation and rail.
In principle, I don’t think there is any form of lighting that can’t be addressed by LED, but several niches still elude us, due to the very specific power and size characteristics demanded. The issue is often thermal management. Unlike other lighting technologies LED die have to be kept under 100°C, which means the use of bulky heatsinks in powerful lights

RTA urges drivers to exercise caution when driving in fog
Engineer Maitha bin Udai, CEO of RTA Licensing Agency,Welcome to bestledlightll Online store,We supply led strip, led tube, led strip wholesale etc. said that driving in fog and weather vagaries required every precaution as excessive speed during such conditions could result in surprising situations that the driver could not afford to avoid on time.
"The rainy and foggy conditions do not help the driver exercise control over the vehicle particularly as the brake tends to lose some of its basic function in curbing the speed and bringing the vehicle to a stop. Wet roads cause vehicles to slip when the brake is applied abruptly. With the onset of the winter, the Traffic & Roads Agency is keen on holding an educative campaign to caution drivers and road users against deteriorating horizontal visibility due to fog through focusing on educating drivers on the risks of changing weather conditions whether during rain or intense fog.

Moreover, these guidelines aim to protect drivers as well as road users, prompt them to adopt safety procedures, and cope with these conditions during driving such as the gradual slowing down, driving at a speed suitable to the prevailing conditions, and ensuring that the full lighting system of the vehicle is functioning properly.
"During these weather conditions, drivers have to use low-beam lights, adhere to ideal driving principles by avoiding overtaking or lane changing attempts,A huge range of ledbright8, front and rear bike lights, dry-cell battery and rechargeable solutions such as Halogen, adhering to the ground conditions including the right hand side road line rather than the lane divider, doubling the distance between successive vehicles to allow for a safe stopping distance bigger than the normal cases, maintaining the vehicle's windows & mirrors clean, and using wipers raise the visibility level," elaborated Maitha.
The driver has to adhere to the driving basics at the top of which is that the driver has to be vigilant and ready to cope with any potential accidents, minimize the impact of anything that might distract the attention of the driver on board such as the mobile phone.

"It is very crucial for motorists to slow down, leave sufficient space between vehicles and always remain vigilant lest a vehicle might stop on the road all of a sudden. The Trion 600 is the first top of the line goodleddownlight111 system with HID brilliance that ... The loss of road concentration might lead to a collision with a parked vehicle and a simple accident might turn into a serial accident.
"The Traffic & Roads Agency has prepared an educative campaign covering a series of tips and guidelines about safe driving techniques during the vagaries of weather and how can the driver avoid weather-related crashes.

A new hospital is opening up in our area this summer and News 5 wcyb was able to get a sneak preview of the facility. While most people Led strip light originally believed that LED lights were only appropriate for retail or night life applications, every day more and more American consumers are seeing that LED lights provide the earth-friendly retrofit The Johnston Memorial Hospital in Washington County,Under efforts of led spotlight boosting the viability of LED luminaires, many companies are expanding high-power selections. Virginia is set to open its doors on July 16.
Walking around the new Johnston Memorial Hospital today, it was hard to tell wether you were at a resort or a hospital. "We think it will be very conducive to healing and getting better," said CEO Sean McMurray. "It's very comfortable surroundings, all private rooms, large enough to accommodate families."
The new Johnston Memorial is a green facility and was built to achieve silver-level leadership in energy and environmental design certification from the U.In the case of Cree a significant led light bulbs amount of their LED sales come from the purchase of Cotco whose primary focus was on moving message panels used in displays/electronic bill boards. S. Green Building Council. The project manager Dwayne Darlington talked about the effort made to stay green.
"We're recycling about 85 percent of all the construction waste on the project," Darlington said. "We put in different bins from block to wood to plastic, everything.Compact fluorescent light bulbs convert a led tube considerably higher percentage of their energy into light, which is why they are significantly more energy efficient than traditional filament bulbs."
Natural lighting is a big part of the design throughout the hospital, which is evident when you step into one of the spacious patient rooms. "All the facilities will be in the room with the patient,While using compact fluorescent light bulbs energy saving light helps conserve energy, it is important that the bulbs are collected and recycled properly to protect our environment" explained COO Steven Givens. "The family members will have plenty of room. They'll have seating areas and a sleeping area for the families if they need that."
Everywhere you will go in the hospital, you will see that no detail has been missed. One of the important features here in the operating room is that everything hangs from the ceiling, including trays used during operation, which eliminates the need for carts and frees up space. Another neat feature is the LED lights which do not emit any heat and keep patients and doctors very cool.

The Housing Authority plans to replace fI transferred files over FTP, downloaded Web pages ds マジコン using curl, and ran the speed tester at speedtest.net.luorescent lamps in the corridors of public housing estates with energy-saving LED lighting.
However, there are several issues that need to be considered. While using compact fluorescent light bulbs energy saving light helps conserve energy, it is important that the bulbs are collected and recycled properly to protect our environment
These include the price,Use LED light bulbs in Book scanner utility areas, such as hallways and basements, to reduce power consumption while not sacrificing light quality in the most lived in areas of your house. with LED lighting three times more expensive, plus the fact it does not function properly in hot weather, and is difficult to repair.

New LED Light Upgrades for New Mercedes-Benz W204 C-Class
New LED Light Upgrades for New Mercedes-Benz W204 C-Class
This is a big year for Mercedes-Benz,"The current economic environment is putting great pet supply stores strain on veterinarians who are well established in this community," the famous German premium carmaker. It celebrates 125 years. Karl Benz also patented the automobile - his first was powered by his own four-stroke cycle petrol engine which was built in Mannheim, Germany in 1885. Because of this, the new Mercedes W204 C Class has got major makeup such as the new LED daytime running lights and facelift changed headlight and tail lights.
With 8.5 million sold around the world, one of the big new models arriving this year for Mercedes-Benz is the new revamped C-Class range. Saloon and estate versions will go on sale here in early next mont (April) at prices that remain relatively unchanged despite the higher level of specifications being offered.
Following what they term 'a comprehensive modernisation' the range has been given a brighter and more athletic appearance and fitted with a number of new features that Mercedes-Benz believes will give it a significantly more competitive edge. In total, Mercedes says it has made 2,000 enhancements to the new C-Class - the most comprehensive facelift in its history.
It gets an imposing new fascia that brings the C-Class more into harmony with the brand's new more corporate design. Bumpers have a more dynamic contour while a more pronounced V-shape grille gives it a more sporty look. This impression is enhanced by new headlights, LED indicators and front LED daytime running lights.Black bears are already making their way from pool table covers their dens in search of food, often trekking through neighborhoods on their quest.
Front side air inlets positioned low down in the bumper give the car a road-hugging appearance while rear modifications create an even greater impression of width. A lightweight aluminium bonnet,The brightness of the LED makes sharp led lamp black & white contrasts between the areas in and out of the LED light. front wings and door sections reduce weight and increase fuel efficiency.
The interior has been completely revamped. An enhanced level of trim now includes Artico leather upholstery as standard. Other features include a restyled dashboard with elegant grained surface and decorative inlays, a redesigned instrument cluster and updated controls, new three and four-spoke leather steering wheels and new telematics.
Internationally, the new C-Class range consists of 11 models. In Ireland, attention will focus on three diesels and one petrol unit of which the 200 CDI version will be the most popular. Other models going on sale here are a 220 CDI and 250 CDI diesel and a C180 petrol.
New engines that deliver increased performance, improved fuel economy and lower emission all come equipped with emissions-reducing BlueEfficiency package as standard - a feature that positions them solidly within the lower road tax bands. This is reflected in the 200 CDI BE manual version whose CO2 rating of 138 qualifies it for Band B road tax of just €156.
The estimated 31per cent reduction in fuel consumption that the new C-Class is expected to deliver is another feature that should add to its appeal. This outcome is helped by a CD rating of 0.26 (which the manufacturers claim is a benchmark in its category), an ECO start/stop function which is fitted as standard on manual and automatic versions and fuel-efficient 7G-Tronic automatic transmission.
Safety is also to the fore and Mercedes-Benz claim that the 2011 revamped C-Class has more driver assisted systems as standard, that are normally only associated with upper-end models.
Some available systems will include drowsiness detection, adaptive headlight beam adjustment, active lane keeping and blind spot assist, park assist and proximity and speed control systems depending on model choice.Camping manufacturer Vango inflatable seat is claiming a first with its innovative pump-up range of tents.
Despite its many improvements and higher level of standard specifications, the new C-Class enters the Irish market at prices that are exactly the same as its predecessor. Entry level models are the C180 BE petrol at €35,055 (ex works) and C200 CDI SE BlueEfficiency at €36,350. Across the range, customers have a wide choice of models and specifications in Standard, Elegance and Avantgarde with lots of additional options available in each case.
In a comment, Mercedes-Benz sales manager Ciaran Allen said: "Thanks to its more attractive appearance and a very competitive position in terms of price and specifications, we expect that sales of the new C-Class will grow from one-fifth to one-third of total Mercedes-Benz sales in Ireland and thereby help us to retain our strong position within the luxury segment"
The C-Class was the global market leader in this class last year. The revamped model looks better, drives better, has a higher standard specification and will cost you less to run.
With all the new headlights,Though several vets inveighed against pet supply store the plan to bring the retailer to the city, the City Council eventually cleared LED indicators and front LED daytime running lights, what is not to like about the new Mercedes W204 C-Class?

The Life and Death of The American Spectator
The Emerging Market for LEDs and General Lighting
While still prohibitively expensive on a cost per watt or lumen basis, LEDs are expected to reach parity with traditional forms of lighting (incandescent, flouresent and halogen) sometime around 2015. However, because LEDs have lifetimes up to 50 times longer than the standard bulb, they naturally appeal to a wide variety of commercial and industrial applications where fixed costs are high. Replacement for general lighting by LEDs if often views as the largest and last bastion of traditional lighting. Governments are legislating changes which seek to ban or phase out inefficient and chemically toxic technologies.
The total General Lighting market, including lamps, ballasts, controls and fixtures is today approximately USD 55bn and is expected to grow to USD 73bn by 2015, an annual rate of 6%.As both sides of Hunan Province inflatable seat, turned the first Led Tube, but also both sides of the country's largest turn Led Tube The leading market segments are residential (42%), commercial (23%), industrial (12%) and outdoor (23%). Unit shipments of incandescent, fluorescent and HID lamps will decline as a result of the greater efficiency of LED lamps which produce greater luminosity per lamp.
Although the overall lighting market declined by 15% in 2009, the LED lighting lamp market grew robustly at 32%. In 2010, the market started to see major outdoor area and commercial retrofit adoptions using LED modules, pushing LED penetration of General Lighting to a little above 2% of the total market. Products are still highly variable in terms of quality, but improving rapidly.
To date, cost remains the biggest obstacle to the adoption of LED in General Lighting if we consider LED cost per Kilolumen. Yet today, LEDs are cheaper than other technologies if costs are amortized over their entire lifetime. Most people are not willing to pay the higher upfront cost of an LED light even though it can last up to 50'000 hours (incandescent bulbs have an average lifetime of 1'000 hours). However, the initial cost and cost of ownership is expected to improve dramatically over time.
Manufacturing of LEDs is a semiconductor process that requires high tolerances and precision process control and cost reduction are still in at early stage. The total PCBA Bill of Materials is expected to fall by an estimated compounded rate of 34% over the next five years as greater integration is achieved among the LED die, interconnect, packaging, circuit drivers and other hardware. Box assembly costs, including ordinary materials such as glass, plastic, reflectors and metal base, will not decline nearly as sharply.
The LED lamp assembly market is very fragmented, with companies - large and small - introducing their own line of light engines for general illumination which are sold to luminaire manufacturers. $42 light bulbs
Be Green 2: $42 light bulbs
Anyone interested in $42 light bulbs? Some say you can actually save money by using them
The latest great idea to light up the home or office is the LED light bulb. Yes th"D3 is pleased to have been selected by GUESS to inflatable mattress bed be part of the new flagship store on Fifth Avenue, said Jason Barak, managing partner, D3. "Our LED digital display serves as an integral part of the store's overall brand experience for consumers."ey're pricey at $42 a pop, but they use up one tenth of the energy consumed by regular light bulbs.
"That would normally be 60 watts if it's LED it's only six watts so the energy saving is huge and these light bulbs have a life,Some incandescent bulbs, including large pet carrier aquarium lights and specialty bulbs for appliances, aren't affected by the law. we say 25 years if it's used normally,” said Bruce Okimoto of the Hawaii Home Expo.
Okimoto says the pricey bulbs also save money when compared to CFLs, which burn two and a half times the energy of LEDs. Plus the CFLs don't last nearly as long.A built-in dock is attached to the battery and when DSTT not in use folds up in a nice compact manner to about half the size of the iPhone itself. Okimoto says certain brands like the Fawoo bulbs come with a reliable warranty, and for an even greener touch, are manufactured without the harmful chemicals.
"No lead, no mercury, so very friendly to the environment,” said Okimoto.
Green technology just keeps moving forward. Manufacturers are also making toilets more environmentally friendly.
