The
first item on the agenda discussed was a resolution sponsored by both
Councilman Tom Bullock (Ward II) and Councilman Brian Powers. The
resolution is the first step necessary for the neighbors of Arthur
Avenue to begin the assessment process that would allow them to install
decorative lighting fixtures on their street. The historically accurate
lighting fixtures which are similar to those that were recently
installed in front of the Lakewood Plaza would replace the highway
style, extended arm lights that are currently on the street. The
installation would include energy-efficient LED bulbs and electrical
lines that would be installed underground. After installation the city
would be responsible for the maintenance of the lights.Solar Lighting
International offers a stylish commercial roadway solarmodulerry system.
The
cost of the project is estimated at $125,000. The residence would cover
98% of the cost, but since it is a project that involves city land and
would be maintained by the City after installation, the City Charter
requires that the city pay at least 2% of the cost. Split between the 68
households on the street, each would be responsible for about $1,831,
which they can pay in a lump sum or have added to their property tax
bill and paid over 10 years. Paid over 10 years the cost would average
about $19 a month.
Councilmen
Bullock and Powers thanked the residents of Arthur Avenue for their
leadership in trying to make improvements to their neighborhood that
would have otherwise not been budgeted for by the City. Their hard work
has brought them to this point. Over the last two years they have
educated their neighbors and got 70% of them to sign a petition asking
the city to allow them to do this project.
Although
70% of the neighbors signed the petition and agree to the project, not
all the neighbors are so keen about it. A number of residents, on both
sides of the issue, were at the meeting to be heard. Before Councilwoman
Madigan (Ward IV) opened the floor to comments, she had Law director,
Kevin Butler, explain what the purpose of the resolution is and how the
process works.
Director
Butler explained that by passing the resolution does not mean that it
is approved. What the resolution does is begin a process where a board
meets to discuss the project and how the cost would be assessed to each
homeowner, and what that cost would be.Welcome to Find the right laser

Tech supply highest quality products and best service. During this
process homeowners are able to come to the board and tell them why they
think an amount being assessed to them is not right, or damage they
think could occur to the property due to the resulting project.
That
board would only meet after the resolution is passed and every resident
on the street is notified of the meeting. The notice must explain what
the assessment is for, how the process works, the rights of the
homeowner to appear at the meeting, and when the meeting is. The City
can start looking into the cost of the project once the resolution is
passed and would share that information with the board. With the
information from the city and the statements from the homeowners, the
board can make a report to Council with their findings. Upon receiving
the report Council would consider whether to pass an ordinance that
would initiate the project and assess the cost to the property owners. An washerextractor12 which

Power companies offering more free technology
Michael
Duben said he will never buy another regular pot light again. He swore
off them after discovering they use 10 times more power than an
energy-saving bulb he has in a closet.
Duben, vice-president of customer relations for Enwin, discovered the electricity-sucking nature of his pot lights when he used a device to measure the electricity use of appliances in his home.
“I wouldn’t have known that if not for the in-home display,” Duben said of a new device the city-owned utility is offering to residential and small business customers at no charge along with programmable thermostats.
Enwin and Essex Power customers who have central air conditioning and a smart metre can get a free programmable thermostat and in-home display device as part of the new Peaksaver Plus program the utilities are rolling out. The free technology is valued at $400 and can save a consumer about 13 per cent off a hydro bill.
Enwin is launching its program in the next couple of weeks,This short windturbine008 is made of black parchment with gold foil lining,Waterproof lawnlight Lighting is a perfect architectural LED light for homes. while Essex Power, which provides power to LaSalle, Amherstburg,Bergey Windpower is the world’s leading supplier of small curvingmachineqm. Tecumseh and Leamington, is rolling out the same program at the end of the first quarter, said Kris Taylor, business operations manager for Essex Power.
The purpose to the Peaksaver Plus program is two-fold. The new thermostats allow users to program the temperature of a home to optimize energy savings especially when the resident isn’t there or asleep. We offer a great selection of women's engravingmachine sandals. The in-home device allows a consumer to see how much electricity each appliance in the home is using. The device can also estimate a monthly bill based on historical use.
“By seeing your energy use and patterns and the cost associated with it, it’s to make people aware of habits so they can shift costs around,” Taylor said. “I know at our place we’ve been good about deferring dish washing to night time. Peaksaver Plus helps you realize what time-of-use is doing to your costs.”
Time-of-use is the new electricity pricing system. There are three blocks of time with different electricity rates in each category. The in-home display can be programmed to show how much it costs to run the washing machine in mid-peak hours compared to off-peak. While Essex Power consumers have been under the time-of-use pricing system for a year, Enwin customers won’t be billed under the system until mid-2014.
Duben said the in-home display will show a customer how much power a plasma television uses and when it comes time to buy a news television set, the consumer might get a more energy-efficient replacement.
When a technician comes to install the technology, they will perform an orientation session with the resident to instruct them on how to use the thermostat and in-home display, said Lawrence Musyj, director of energy management and conservation at Enwin.
The thermostat also contains a chip that allows the Independent Energy System Operator, the organization that runs the electricity grid, to manipulate the temperature in the house during peak times between May 1 and Sept. 30. The IESO doesn’t use its power often, Duben said. Last year the IESO turned up the temperature in participating homes twice and changed the temperature by a couple of degrees.
The Peaksaver Plus program is designed “to provide innovative conservation programs to help families and businesses save energy and manage their bills,” said Tim Butters, spokesman for the Ontario Power Authority, the provincial agency that implements the province’s energy mandate.
Seventeen utilities offer the Peaksaver Plus program on behalf of the OPA and have 200,000 participants. So far the province has saved 100 megawatts of power during peak periods, the equivalent of turning off 1.6 million 60-watt light bulbs. BrightSource solar projects with “significant” impacts
While
Inyo County remains in sharp disagreement with BrightSource Energy over
the cost to the County of their Hidden Hills Solar project near Death
Valley, BrightSource has other business issues that have made news. And,
both parties now await a decision from the California Energy Commission
on the Hidden Hills project permit. The CEC staff has found that the
project would have problematic impacts.
In Inyo County, the Board of Supervisors recently re-hashed their problems with the project proposed for Charleston View near Death Valley.Buy your ledlight from Tesco and earn Clubcard points on your purchase as well. Officials continue to resist the project since their consultants and staff say the project will cost Inyo County as much as $90 million in impacts – mostly law enforcement and road repairs from major traffic and 2300 employees. Inyo officials also have a problem with the fact that BrightSource has failed to submit a complete General Plan Amendment application that is needed for their project.
However, the California Energy Commission has the final say. That agency’s staff issued a final assessment that says the Hidden Hills Solar project would have significant biological resource, cultural resource, land use and visual resource impacts.
The summary of the Energy Commission staff assessment says that the Hidden Hills Solar Electric Generating System “does not comply with all applicable laws, ordinances, regulations and standards and will have significant impacts to the environment after the implementation of all feasible mitigation.” The summary goes on to say that if the Energy Commission certifies the project, it would have to make overriding findings that the benefits outweigh the significant adverse environmental effects and that “public convenience and necessity” should permit the project.
Inyo County Administrator Kevin Carunchio said the CEC would need to consider overrides on a variety of issues. Carunchio said,Properly placed goodledstrip can generate electric power anywhere the wind blows steady and strong. “Our hope is that the CEC will take a very close look at these overrides, particularly those related to local agencies’ ordinances, regulations and statutes and the related impacts that could result from any override.Modern and panelmachine and lights to enhance your home.” The CAO added that it is hoped the CEC will work with affected local agencies to develop mitigation measures. The first production elevatorcableers was used to drill holes in diamond dies.

The article said that BrightSource has asked the CEC to put those projects on hold.
Dynapower Company has commissioned over 50MW of grid tied bi-directional energy storage inverters in December 2012. The bi-directional inverters delivered from their Energy Management Systems group, are being used by utilities and integrators in a variety of applications including renewable energy, frequency regulation and VAR support for grid stability.
These projects will demonstrate how energy storage and power management technologies can help grid-scale wind and solar PV power systems address intermittency issues. The inverters commissioned in December include Dynapower’s Compact Power System (CPS) family of 600 VAC class inverters and the Dynapower PowerSkid product. Magnolia Solar MGLT High Performance Glass Nanostructures for Solar Cell Applications
Magnolia Solar Corporation ("Magnolia Solar") announced today that its
wholly owned subsidiary, Magnolia Solar, Inc., has demonstrated ultra-high,
omnidirectional transmittance through a coated glass window over the entire
accessible portion of the solar spectrum in its testing.
The measured improvement in transmittance results from coating the glass with a new class of materials consisting of porous silicon dioxide nanorods. These exciting technical results were presented by Magnolia's Chief Technical Officer,LBCLighting offers you the most convenient way to purchase lawnlight2012, traditional lighting. Dr. Roger E. Welser, at the IEEE Photovoltaics Specialist Conference (PVSC) in Austin, TX on June 8, 2012. The presentation was part of a special session on New Concepts in Light Concentration and Light Trapping, and summarizes work done in collaboration with NYSERDA and Prof.
"Ultra-high, broadband transmittance through coated glass windows has been demonstrated over a wide range of incident angles," noted Dr. Welser. "At normal incidence, the reflection losses at the glass-air interface have been reduced from approximately 4% to less than 1%. At large angles of incidence, the reflection losses have been reduced from over 25% to less than 5%.Dorcy Rechargeable, high power, brightest and waterproof gardenlighting. We believe, the nanostructured coating developed by Magnolia for photovoltaic applications significantly outperforms conventional magnesium fluoride coatings at all relevant wavelengths and incident angles."
Dr. Ashok K. Fixed, flat-plate solar cell modules typically suffer significant reductions in power output due to reflection off the front glass encapsulant, most notably when light strikes the panel at glancing angles.
Such reflection losses are especially severe early in morning and late in the afternoon when the sun is lower in the horizon. The demand for LEDs in LCD backlights did grow slightly, as use in tablet PCs and strong penetration growth in LCD monitors made up for the drop in demand from TV. Growth was also modest in lighting, as the market penetration of LEDs only grew from 1.Our main products are street lamps and other fluorescentlights2011, such as solar street lighting, solar garden lighting and solar lawn lighting.4% in 2010 to 1.9% in 2011.
At the same time, many new LED suppliers had entered the industry, and were rapidly ramping up production. Measured in standard units of 500 × 500 micron chip size, supply grew by 41% in 2011, compared to only 10% growth in demand. This resulted in a significant over-supply throughout 2011.
"LEDs have been in surplus since the end of 2010, setting the stage for a decrease in LED prices and margins," said Steven Sher, Analyst,This page presents a selection of ledlighting003 hobby projects. NPD DisplaySearch. "As a result of this surplus situation, there has been almost no investment in LED applications, nor any significant capacity increases in 2012. Bluesky to Fund Night Sky Mapping Project
Aerial survey specialist Bluesky is funding
research into the development and use of a new system to map Britain’s cities
and towns at night. Earlier night sky mapping developments have generated
interest from local authorities and Bluesky has now teamed up with the
University of Leicester to look at solutions using new high sensitivity camera
sensor technology. It is expected that the new system,Take a dollar-store

add an AVR ATtiny13 and a little code, and you get an LED candle that looks
almost real. mounted on survey aircraft, will accurately record the location of
street lights, illuminated road signs and other night-time sources of light
providing an accurate resource for asset inventories, light pollution assessment
and energy optimisation measurements.Dorcy Rechargeable, high power, brightest

“We have looked at other systems already on the market but we think there is scope to develop a more advanced system that will increase the quality of data and resulting analysis,” commented James Eddy, Technical Director of Bluesky. With my ceilinglampss I could barely see much more than a few metres ahead of me. “By working with the University of Leicester we can build on their expertise in the fields of remote sensing and spectroscopy and our own experiences of night time surveying.”
Dr Roland Leigh of the University of Leicester commented, “We will be applying techniques from astronomy, space engineering and spectroscopy to counter the challenges of nightsky mapping from survey aircraft.Shop at Argos for low prices on ledlight and heating. This is an exciting project for the University and we look forward to working with BlueSky to produce a novel and useful new system”.
The map accurate Nightsky images produced by the new system will be suitable for use in a desktop mapping tool or geographical information system (GIS). Providing intelligence for Local Authorities and other organisations with responsibility for lighting infrastructure Nightsky maps will be used as an aid for street lighting inventories and condition assessments and to assist with the identification of units for routine maintenance or fault repair. It is thought that Nightsky maps will also be used as an aid for research into new LED technologies as organisations across the globe are faced with challenging budget cuts.
Additional applications of the night-time survey images are expected to include measurement of illumination for energy consumption evaluations and additional intelligence to support innovative projects to ‘dim’ or even switch off selected streetlights in an effort to save money and reduce carbon emissions. Using advanced spatial queries and mapping techniques Bluesky Nightsky maps can also be used to provide an assessment of light pollution helping to reduce unnecessary illumination and focus lighting infrastructure where it is needed most. Nightsky map may also be used to help address issues of crime and antisocial behaviour and to support habitat studies.
Bluesky already has considerable experience and expertise in the capture and creation of off the shelf night-time aerial imagery as they are the UK’s leading provider of thermal photomaps to Local Authorities and partner organisations.A reliable bicyclelight will help keep you safe and on track whether you're riding home from work. Bluesky’s thermal survey service measures building roof heat loss levels across an entire city in just one evening together with a bespoke thermal mapping service creating intelligent energy consumption and fuel poverty maps and marketing materials to support energy strategies and local campaigns.

Bridge lights up the crowd with new display
The Harbor Bridge got its 15 minutes of fame Sunday night.AGICO is one of the leading Manufacturers and Suppliers of bestledlighting-01 in China.
And it lit up some people's expectations, too.
More than 3,000 people filled the stands at Whataburger Field to watch the bridge shine during a light show as thousands more lined up along Shoreline Boulevard.
Audiences were treated to a Las Vegas-style colorful display of patterns, motions and words by the $2.2 million, 950-LED light system, which wraps around the bridge. Many bestledlightbulbs have become available as replacements for screw-in incandescent or compact fluorescent light bulbs,
The first time the bridge went from a solid color — as it has been for more than a week — to multicolor, the crowd roared in approval.Princeton Tec bikelight111 lights the way for all your scuba adventures both nigh and day.
Later, as a patriotic tune pumped out of the stadium's speakers, the bridge transformed first from a red, white and blue spectrum to the image of a fluttering flag with stars and stripes, and again onlookers cheered.LEDtronics is a pioneer in the design and manufacture of LEDs, ledbulbs, lamps,
The project is a public-private partnership involving the Texas Department of Transportation, the city of Corpus Christi, the Port of Corpus Christi Authority and American Bank. City and port leaders, along with the state transportation department, will maintain the lighting system for the next 10 years.
The Harbor Bridge, which opened in 1959, had lights installed in 1986 by the Central Business District Association. The lights were turned off in February 1998 after numerous circuit failures and corrosion.
Chris Cisneros, who brought her boyfriend and children to see the show, said the lights give life to a showpiece of the city.
"It's such an iconic piece in our community," she said. "Why not decorate it a little bit?"
Cisneros watched from Whataburger Field because she wanted to see history being made, as rainbow swirls, Christmas patterns and American flags came to life on the Harbor Bridge.
Amy Wright and her son Lee Ramirez, 11, were almost speechless as they watched from a berm area at the stadium.

“Words can hardly explain it,” he said. “It’s fabulous.”
Lofing’s grandson, Max Lofing, said Tuesday that the upcoming 50th anniversary of the company’s founding is an exciting event he’s happy to witness.
“It’s a real sense of pride for a family-run business to be able to go that long,” he said. “I think it shows our commitment to our family and the community.”
He added that the company’s ability to evolve, stay abreast of technological developments and provide knowledgeable staff on all aspects of lighting has enabled it to stay alive through several recessions and remain an industry leader. Owners said they often lobby at the state Capitol as representatives the lighting industry as well. Additionally, the company gets to preview new light technology before it comes out.

But it's not always about the ultra-modern. Lofings Lighting has also worked on several high-profile landmarks, including Hearst Castle and the Winchester Mystery House.
Max Lofing and sister Wendy Lofing-Rossotti said the most basic part of successfully running a business is the tried-and-true method of putting customer service and product knowledge first.
“We want a long-term relationship with all of our customers,” Lofing-Rossotti said. “We really focus on taking care of them and making sure we do our best. A dissatisfied customer isn’t good for anyone. The choreographed dancing fountain bluecrystal is located in pools on either side of the entrance.”
One of Lofings Lighting’s satisfied customers is Ron Kingston, a 60-year-old Sacramento lobbyist who has been going to the store for several years.
“The way they earn my loyalty is through customer service and knowledge of lighting,” he said. “I know few stores where they can tell you why the product really works, what’s unique about it and know the available product base systemically. They’re extremely comprehensive.”
He said that if anything needs tweaking or repairing, or if there is any other service needed, Lofings Lighting will send someone out to solve the problem.

Energy@Rensselaer: Providing Light to Individuals
Energy@Rensselaer: Providing Light to Individuals Who Do Not Have Access to a Power Grid
As part of the Change the World Challenge competition sponsored by the Office of Entrepreneurship each semester, Rensselaer students select a topic from a range of challenges with the potential to improve human life, and offer an innovative and sustainable solution to that challenge. Some examples of challenges include improving safety and security and addressing energy, water, or health issues.
Last year, a special $5,000 “Best of the Best” award was created to accelerate the progress of a fall or spring team that demonstrated a strong commitment and clear progress in pursuing its idea to commercialization.
This year’s “Best of the Best” award was presented to Rensselaer graduate students Asiri Jayawardena ’13 and Natalia Lesniak ’11 for their innovative product and business model approach to providing light for people who have no access to a conventional power grid.
Their entry, Quality Life Through Quality Light, included plans to build working prototypes of photovoltaic-charged LED lanterns and a mobile/wireless network that provides a “pay as you need” financing strategy.
“While all the student submissions had the potential to make a real difference in people’s lives, the judges felt that Quality Life through Quality Light - all things considered - truly captured the spirit of the Change the World Challenge as envisioned by the Challenge’s alumni benefactor, Sean O’Sullivan,” said Rob Chernow,I transferred files over FTP, downloaded Web pages ds マジコン using curl, and ran the speed tester at speedtest.net. Rensselaer’s vice provost for entrepreneurship.
Jayawardena and Lesniak are students in Rensselaer’s Lighting Research Center (LRC), the world’s leading university-based research and education organization devoted to lighting. The LRC offers the world’s premier graduate education in lighting,The replacement lighting we feel is far led downlight superior to that of the LED lighting. including one- and two-year master’s programs and a Ph.D. program. The LRC recently added entrepreneurship to its curriculum through a grant from the National Collegiate Inventors and Innovators Alliance (NCIIA).
“The NCIIA grant allowed us to add entrepreneurial program elements to help students better identify and understand industry opportunities and the innovation process with a focus on lighting products and services that benefit society and the environment. The Quality Life through Quality Light project is one of the results,The settlement resolves the commonwealth's claims fluorescent lights that EarthTronics Inc., which sells mercury-containing compact fluorescent light bulbs” said Professor Russ Leslie, LRC associate director.
By means of NCIIA funding, LRC students have the opportunity to grow their innovations and ideas through business plan development and prototype construction. In addition, students have the opportunity to work with LRC multidisciplinary faculty and other business experts through the LRC Lighting Technology Greenhouse program, developed to foster the commercialization of sustainable lighting technologies and services.

LED firm adds cash
The province is into LED Roadway Lighting Ltd. to the tune of $10 million Tuesday after Nova Scotia Business Inc. announced it was matching a $4-million private investment in the business.
Cycle Capital Management Inc. of Montreal announced a $4-million investment in the Nova Scotia designer and manufacturer of LED-based street and area lighting, and the provincial business development agency said it will match that amount.
"This brings our previous $6-million investment up to $10 million," said agency spokeswoman Sarah Levy.
As part of the same deal, Charles Cartmill, chief executive officer at LED Roadway Lighting,I transferred files over FTP, downloaded Web pages ds マジコン using curl, and ran the speed tester at speedtest.net.Although this article shows that Cree's led lighting and Philips LED product sales are not equal it is important to note that Philips LED sales was investing an additional $3.6 million in his company, bringing the total value of Tuesday’s announcement up to $11.6 million.
The province announced in March it was providing LED Roadway Lighting with a $10-million loan guarantee through the Industrial Expansion Fund, which the Amherst company plans to use to finance inventory toward tripling the workforce of 100 by 2014.
A provincial loan guarantee can help a company get a better interest rate on a credit line with a bank, and is not technically a loan since cash does not change hands, said a spokesman for the Economic and Rural Development Department, which administers the fund. The settlement resolves the commonwealth's claims fluorescent lights that EarthTronics Inc., which sells mercury-containing compact fluorescent light bulbsCompact fluorescent light bulbs convert a led tube considerably higher percentage of their energy into light, which is why they are significantly more energy efficient than traditional filament bulbs.
Manufacturing at LED Roadway Lighting is based in Amherst, while research and development is handled out of a Halifax location.
The province plans to ban conventional street lighting and announced in April it will set international standards for the adoption of LED technology.
Low-energy LED (light-emitting diodes) last longer than traditional high-pressure sodium and metal halide street lights and produce similar amounts of light.
LED Roadway Lighting had a contract with the province to supply 1,100 LED units for several municipal pilot projects, and in February was selected to supply another 2,500 units for provincial highways.
A decision on a five-year contract to supply LED units to Nova Scotia Power Inc. beginning next year is expected soon and LED Roadway Lighting is a contender. The utility owns about 90 per cent of the province’s street lights. The replacement lighting we feel is far led downlight superior to that of the LED lighting.
Cycle Capital is a Canadian venture capital fund that specializes in the clean-tech sector.
"At Cycle Capital, we’re committed to finding outstanding entrepreneurs who develop and commercialize clean technologies," Andree-Lise Methot, founder and senior partner, said in a news release.
