For ongoing financial reporting, the Company has successfully transitioned to International Financial Reporting Standards ("IFRS"). As such, all figures from January 1, 2011 onwards will be expressed in US dollars, unless otherwise specified, and will incorporate IFRS. Comparative information for 2010 has been restated in US dollars and in accordance with IFRS.

For the three months ended March 31, 2011, the Company reported a sales decrease of 14% to $540,693 from $628,600 for the same period last year. Revenue from the Company's commercial LED MR16 increased 27% while sales from bus lighting and contract manufacturing decreased resulting in the overall sales reduction. Decreased bus lighting and contract manufacturing sales are a result of difficult economic times and budget cut-backs in the sectors. Net loss for the quarter was $516,683 or $0.02 per share versus a net loss for the comparative period 2010 of $476,093 or $0.02 per share. Cash at March 31, 2011 was $212,054 and working capital was $409,931.

"Most noteworthy during the quarter, as we target high-volume sales channels, is the securing of our agreement with Energizer. SWEPCO lists summer energy saving tips.

SWEPCO lists summer energy saving tips.
“Hot summer weather is here with temperatures near 100 degrees or above and high humidity make you eager to stay cool but save energy at the same time,” says Scott McCloud, SWEPCO spokesman.
SWEPCO customers can save money on their summer bills by following these energy tips to reduce electric usage in the home,” adds McCloud.
? Install a clean air conditioning filter on a regular basis in the summer and replace or clean it monthly. Dirty filters cause the equipment to work harder and use up to five percent more energy.
? For economy, set the air conditioner thermostat at 78 degrees. Each degree below 78 adds about eight percent to your cooling costs.Compact fluorescent light bulbs convert a led tube considerably higher percentage of their energy into light, which is why they are significantly more energy efficient than traditional filament bulbs.
? Use portable and ceiling fans whenever possible to help circulate air and help reduce the amount of air conditioning required. They only cost a dollar or two a month to operate because they are smaller wattage appliances.
? Set your thermostat at a higher temperature while you’re away from home. This way the air conditioner won’t be on as often while you’re out.In the case of Cree a significant led light bulbs amount of their LED sales come from the purchase of Cotco whose primary focus was on moving message panels used in displays/electronic bill boards.
? Perform heavy housework chores in the cooler time of day – this includes washing dishes, baking and laundry work. These create heat and moisture that put an extra strain on the air conditioner. Vent clothes dryers to the outside and use kitchen exhaust fans to get rid of excess heat.
? Keep direct sunlight out as much as possible.I transferred files over FTP, downloaded Web pages ds マジコン using curl, and ran the speed tester at speedtest.net. Close curtains, shades and blinds to hold down the temperature inside the home. Consider light-colored roofs, outside walls, drapes and solar screens that reflect the heat.
? Weatherstrip doors and windows to prevent expensive air leaks. Make sure all windows and doors are closed when the ac unit is operating.
? The attic should be properly ventilated to prevent excess heat build-up, which causes your cooling system to work harder. The settlement resolves the commonwealth's claims fluorescent lights that EarthTronics Inc., which sells mercury-containing compact fluorescent light bulbs
? Insulation is important and can pay for itself by lowering your cooling costs by as much as 20 percent.
? Air conditioning equipment should be inspected and services each year by a licensed contractor to operate at maximum efficiency.
? Be sure the damper is tightly closed on a fireplace to prevent air loss.
? Keep furniture and draperies away from air vents inside the house. Air should be allowed to flow freely throughout the home.
? Shrubberies growing against the outside walls, as well as trees that shade the roof,The replacement lighting we feel is far led downlight superior to that of the LED lighting. act as a barrier against the sun and can reduce the amount of energy required to cool your home. Make sure shrubbery is trimmed away from the outdoor compressor unit so there is ample room for good air flow.
SWEPCO customers are encouraged to practice these measures in the summer for wise energy use in the home.

Revelers embody as much of the show as the artists at Electric Daisy Carnival

Revelers embody as much of the show as the artists at Electric Daisy Carnival
Of course there was a chick in a puffy white skirt pedaling a giant four-wheeled butterfly formed from two conjoined bicycles, at least half a dozen revelers dressed as party hard bananas and more flesh on display than a nudist camp composed solely of sumo wrestlers.

At 8 p.m. Friday at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, the Electric Daisy Carnival officially began in all its awesomely absurdist glory and the need for pants and/or chest-covering fabrics officially ended.

It was a night as bright as day.

Everything seemed to glow and pulsate with color, as the 1,The settlement resolves the commonwealth's claims fluorescent lights that EarthTronics Inc., which sells mercury-containing compact fluorescent light bulbs000 acres that formed the festival grounds emitted a supernova's radiance, and traversing the place was like entering a giant Lite-Brite or skinny-dipping in a lava lamp.

The main attraction, at least on paper, was the star DJs, the dance music prime movers who performed on six stages spread throughout the sprawling compound.

But the crowd was as much a part of the show as the artists themselves.

They came dressed as sexy bunny rabbits, sexy medical professionals, sexy superheroes, sexy Native Americans with painted faces and headdresses and sexy Ghostbusters (who knew such a thing could even exist?) if,The replacement lighting we feel is far led downlight superior to that of the LED lighting. that is, they came dressed in anything at all (bare chests, skimpy bikini bottoms and pasties were plentiful).

Aside from all the tanned and toned bodies on display, there were plenty of other diversions: Ferris wheels, bumper cars, a Tilt-A-Whirl and other amusement rides; stilt walkers covered in leafy green foliage; a black-clad drum corps stomping around; and a Fourth of July-worthy fireworks display that exploded above it all at 2 a.m.

Massive art installation pieces that looked like metallic insects or flowers or something a stoned H.The 250U actually had a slightly higher マジコンds average upload speed—.96Mbps up as compared to the U600's .94MbpsR. Giger might dream up belched flames; a pair of metal towers shot bolts of purple-hued electricity that buzzed like angry wasps.

As such, it was easy to get distracted from the music, and perhaps this was the idea: rather than create an environment where the crowd merely stands and watches an artist perform,In the case of Cree a significant led light bulbs amount of their LED sales come from the purchase of Cotco whose primary focus was on moving message panels used in displays/electronic bill boards.  the Electric Daisy Carnival seemed more about attempting to cultivate an immersive atmosphere where the sounds were but a part of the experience, albeit a central one.

None of this is to suggest that the performers were an afterthought.

Far from it in fact, as the line-up on Friday was full of high-impact sets.

Moses couldn't part the sea of bodies that packed the Kinetic Field, where the headliners played on the biggest stage in North America, when superstar Dutch DJ Ti?sto held court beginning at 1 a.m.

The capacity for that part of the grounds is 40,000, and it seemed to have reached that and then some, spilling into adjacent areas where Ti?sto was a barely visible speck of red, the color of his T-shirt.

At festival gigs,Compact fluorescent light bulbs convert a led tube considerably higher percentage of their energy into light, which is why they are significantly more energy efficient than traditional filament bulbs. nuance gives way to bombast, texture to sheer torque, and Ti?sto was in full-on, fist-pumping anthem mode, playing favorites such as "Love Comes Again" to a crowd that bounced up and down like they were coated in rubber.

On the opposite side of the sonic spectrum, Richie Hawtin's set as Plastikman demonstrated that minimalist techno could still conjure maximum force.

Performing most of the time behind a circular wall of LED lights, Hawtin balanced ferocity and finesse impeccably with his heady, nonlinear electronica.

This was a night of contrasting aesthetics: as DJ Vice was enjoining the audience to go ape poo -- trust us, they needed no such encouragement -- Norway's Royksopp, one of the few acts to employ live instrumentation, was crafting alternately elegant and invigorated, meditative and poppy soundscapes while some crowd members lay in the grass in front of the stage, arms outstretched, making lawn angels.

Not long after Brits Skream and Benga unleashed enough bottom end to roil guts and cause indigestion on the aptly named Bass Pod -- a towering, circular lighting rig looked like a giant hamster wheel -- DJ Drop the Lime intermingled dubstep with rockabilly, transforming a surf standard like The Rivingtons' "The Bird's the Word" into a club banger.

Briscoe And Castroneves Post Top-10 Finishes In Iowa To Lead Team Penske

Briscoe And Castroneves Post Top-10 Finishes In Iowa To Lead Team Penske
Ryan Briscoe and Helio Castroneves led the way for Team Penske on Saturday night by finishing sixth and seventh, respectively, in the Iowa Corn Indy 250 under the lights at Iowa Speedway.

Unfortunately, Verizon Team Penske’s Will Power suffered an accident midway through the race and finished 21st, as he sustained a minor concussion and fell to second in the IZOD IndyCar Series championship standings.

Briscoe, who started 10th, battled hard in the No. 6 PPG Automotive Refinish Team Penske Dallara/Honda and was able to work his way inside the top-five early in the race thanks to solid pit work from his crew.Compact fluorescent light bulbs convert a led tube considerably higher percentage of their energy into light, which is why they are significantly more energy efficient than traditional filament bulbs. Though he experienced some issues on race restarts due to handling problems, he was able score an important finish that moved him into sixth in the championship standings.“

The PPG Automotive Refinish car was strong tonight,” said Briscoe, who noted that his crew spent the shortest amount of time on pit lane throughout the evening. “During that last part of the race we had a fast car, it was definitely capable of being a top-three car, but I just couldn’t find my way around a couple of the guys in front of me. All in all it was a good night though. Iowa Speedway is a great track, the stands were full and I think we put on a good show for the fans.In the case of Cree a significant led light bulbs amount of their LED sales come from the purchase of Cotco whose primary focus was on moving message panels used in displays/electronic bill boards.  I am looking forward to Toronto.”

Castroneves, who ran among the leaders early in the race after bouncing back quickly from a 13th-place starting spot, came back from a lap down to earn his fourth consecutive top-10 result. For the second consecutive week,I transferred files over FTP, downloaded Web pages ds マジコン using curl, and ran the speed tester at speedtest.net. a cut tire prevented a top finish by Castroneves in the No. 3 Guidepoint Systems Team Penske Dallara/Honda. As he was running second behind series leader Dario Franchitti, the left rear tire on Castroneves machine began to deflate and he was forced to pit lane to replace the tire, one week after suffering the same issue late while leading the race in Milwaukee.

“The Guidepoint Systems car was very good tonight. We were good enough to fight for the lead and drive through the field. We were running up front, but once again we had the bad misfortune of the tire going flat,” said Castroneves, who is now 12th in the series standings. “It’s a shame, but it happens. From there, we did our best to fight our way back up. It was a great job by the No. 3 Guidepoint Systems guys – they gave me great pit stops and it’s what we needed to get back in it. We’ve got great momentum now. We’ll keep plugging away and we’ll get that good finish. I know it’s coming.”

Power’s race took a wrong turn early on when the Verizon car made contact with the machine of Charlie Kimball on pit lane during the first stop of the night. Power’s car was damaged as a result of the contact and he spun and hit the wall on the 91st lap. Ultimately, the crash dropped him from a tie for the championship lead to 20 points behind Dario Franchitti in the standings at the halfway point in the season. After being examined at the track medical center,The settlement resolves the commonwealth's claims fluorescent lights that EarthTronics Inc., which sells mercury-containing compact fluorescent light bulbs Power was diagnosed with a mild concussion and he will be re-evaluated this week.

“It was definitely a hard hit,” said Power, who started Saturday night’s race from the fifth position. “The Verizon car was damaged after the incident in the pits and we just had a problem with the steering and it came around on me. It’s a tough result for us tonight. The replacement lighting we feel is far led downlight superior to that of the LED lighting. We’ll do our best to get it back next race.”

The IZOD IndyCar Series will take a week off before beginning three consecutive road/street course races with the Honda Indy Toronto on July 10. Power will return as defending champion on the challenging Toronto, Ontario, Canada street circuit.

Area merchants, consumers welcome switch to LED lighting

Area merchants, consumers welcome switch to LED lighting
It will be lights out next year for the 100-watt incandescent light bulbs found in many homes today.

But that doesn't mean consumers will be left in the dark.

In fact, households will have more light choices than ever, though they may have to pay a bit more for them, according to the National Electrical Manufacturers Association.

Incandescent bulbs are being phased out as manufacturers comply with the federal Security Act of 2007, also known as the Energy Bill.

Part of the law sets standards for light bulbs and phase one kicks in next January. Common household light bulbs that use between 40 and 100 watts must use at least 27 percent less energy by 2014, according to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. The law applies to the manufacture date.

In response to these changes, manufacturers have been scrambling to produce alternatives. So far, the results include a halogen bulb, described as a more energy-efficient incandescent; compact fluorescent light bulbs, known as CFLs, and light-emitting diodes, known as LEDs.

The latter are at least 75 percent more energy-efficient than traditional bulbs but at a higher cost.I transferred files over FTP, downloaded Web pages ds マジコン using curl, and ran the speed tester at speedtest.net.

Two bulb manufacturers, for example, recently showcased LED bulbs costing $50 that are bright enough to replace the 100-watt bulbs.

While they cost more initially, LED bulbs last much longer than other bulbs.

"The great thing about America's transition to energy-efficient lighting is that there are multiple choices for consumers to choose from," said Joseph Higbee, spokesman for the National Electrical Manufacturers Association.

Fortunately for consumers, halogens and CFLs, with starting prices under $10, are not as expensive.

Fred Kuehl, supervisor of the electrical department at The Home Depot store in Daytona Beach, said consumers can expect LEDs to come down in price in the next year or two as demand heats up.

The price was not an issue for Daytona Beach Shores resident Harvey Lyons, who spent time Thursday shopping at The Home Depot store in search of an LED to replace a bulb in a ceiling fan at his home.

"I have been trying to cut down on the amount of electricity I use," said Lyons, who was looking for an LED that was equivalent to the traditional 60-watt bulb.

Wholesale Lighting Inc. in South Daytona, an independently owned store, sells a variety of the replacement bulb options including a $12.The settlement resolves the commonwealth's claims fluorescent lights that EarthTronics Inc., which sells mercury-containing compact fluorescent light bulbs99 CFL bulb that would be equivalent to a 100-watt light.

"People are panicking. They think they have to get rid of their (traditional) light bulbs," said the store's owner, Rose Ann Tornatore.

One female customer purchased about 12 cases of incandescent bulbs last year.

There have been published reports of residents in other communities stocking up on incandescent bulbs for fear they are going to be banned from using them.

"They are not being banned," Higbee said,Compact fluorescent light bulbs convert a led tube considerably higher percentage of their energy into light, which is why they are significantly more energy efficient than traditional filament bulbs. adding consumers can continue to use any bulbs they have at home.

They will have choices, he said, when it comes time to replace them. "It may take a more educated buyer to get exactly what you want," he said.

Both Kuehl and Higbee noted consumers will save money over time using either CFLs or LEDs. A chart on the wall at The Home Depot suggest consumers could save thousands of dollars using the new technology compared with the traditional bulbs.

One concern about CFLs, however, is that they contain a small amount of mercury. They will need to be properly recycled as opposed to put in with the other garbage, Kuehl said.

The second part of the 2007 law, which goes into effect in 2020, requires that most bulbs be 60 to 70 percent more efficient than today's standard light bulb.

Mike Garrity, owner of Argent LED, a lighting business in Daytona Beach, said the move toward LED bulbs is about more than the individual homeowner.

"If you only look at it for your home, it doesn't make enough sense,The replacement lighting we feel is far led downlight superior to that of the LED lighting. In the case of Cree a significant led light bulbs amount of their LED sales come from the purchase of Cotco whose primary focus was on moving message panels used in displays/electronic bill boards.  but as a whole it makes great economic sense for the country to cut back on emissions output," he said.

Energy@Rensselaer: Providing Light to Individuals

Energy@Rensselaer: Providing Light to Individuals Who Do Not Have Access to a Power Grid
As part of the Change the World Challenge competition sponsored by the Office of Entrepreneurship each semester, Rensselaer students select a topic from a range of challenges with the potential to improve human life, and offer an innovative and sustainable solution to that challenge. Some examples of challenges include improving safety and security and addressing energy, water, or health issues.

Last year, a special $5,000 “Best of the Best” award was created to accelerate the progress of a fall or spring team that demonstrated a strong commitment and clear progress in pursuing its idea to commercialization.

This year’s “Best of the Best” award was presented to Rensselaer graduate students Asiri Jayawardena ’13 and Natalia Lesniak ’11 for their innovative product and business model approach to providing light for people who have no access to a conventional power grid.

Their entry, Quality Life Through Quality Light, included plans to build working prototypes of photovoltaic-charged LED lanterns and a mobile/wireless network that provides a “pay as you need” financing strategy.

“While all the student submissions had the potential to make a real difference in people’s lives, the judges felt that Quality Life through Quality Light - all things considered - truly captured the spirit of the Change the World Challenge as envisioned by the Challenge’s alumni benefactor, Sean O’Sullivan,” said Rob Chernow,I transferred files over FTP, downloaded Web pages ds マジコン using curl, and ran the speed tester at speedtest.net. Rensselaer’s vice provost for entrepreneurship.

Jayawardena and Lesniak are students in Rensselaer’s Lighting Research Center (LRC), the world’s leading university-based research and education organization devoted to lighting. The LRC offers the world’s premier graduate education in lighting,The replacement lighting we feel is far led downlight superior to that of the LED lighting. including one- and two-year master’s programs and a Ph.D. program. The LRC recently added entrepreneurship to its curriculum through a grant from the National Collegiate Inventors and Innovators Alliance (NCIIA).

“The NCIIA grant allowed us to add entrepreneurial program elements to help students better identify and understand industry opportunities and the innovation process with a focus on lighting products and services that benefit society and the environment. The Quality Life through Quality Light project is one of the results,The settlement resolves the commonwealth's claims fluorescent lights that EarthTronics Inc., which sells mercury-containing compact fluorescent light bulbs” said Professor Russ Leslie, LRC associate director.

By means of NCIIA funding, LRC students have the opportunity to grow their innovations and ideas through business plan development and prototype construction. In addition, students have the opportunity to work with LRC multidisciplinary faculty and other business experts through the LRC Lighting Technology Greenhouse program, developed to foster the commercialization of sustainable lighting technologies and services.

About the students
Asiri Jayawardena is from Sri Lanka, a country in South Asia where close to half the population has no access to electric light. Jayawardena spent his youth studying by candlelight, which inspired him to seek a career in electrical engineering with an emphasis on lighting. His research is focused on electric properties, control strategies,Compact fluorescent light bulbs convert a led tube considerably higher percentage of their energy into light, which is why they are significantly more energy efficient than traditional filament bulbs. and product testing of LEDs. His goal is to develop high-quality, solid-state lighting solutions that are affordable for the people of South Asia. He also plays an active role in supportingLRC efforts to help develop the Regional Centre for Lighting in South Asia.

As the primary knowledge partner, the LRC is guiding the South Asian center in developing education, research, and testing programs, as well as strategic collaboration initiatives, to create access to clean and efficient lighting for the people of South Asia. Prior to enrolling at the LRC, Jayawardena earned a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from the University of Moratuwa in Sri Lanka.
