Escondido officials are dealing with a rash of copper wire thefts that has left dozens of streetlights dark in mostly quiet, upscale neighborhoods.
Police are urging anyone witnessing suspicious activity near a streetlight or its ground-level footing to call police immediately.
Thieves are ripping long strands of copper wire out of the city’s streetlight network and selling the valuable metal for thousands of dollars, said Bud Oliveira, the city deputy public works director.
City officials are trying to make the footings more secure and they’re exploring whether they can start buying copper wires that can be traced if they show up at recycling centers or construction sites, he said.
Meanwhile, the city has struggled to keep up with repairs.
One problem is that the thefts occur so frequently, Oliveira said.Energy efficient pendantlamps strip kits bring an urban glow to your bar that looks incredible. But a bigger issue is that there’s a backlog in orders for new wiring because copper theft has become increasingly common across the nation.
The city has only made repairs in seven of the 14 places where copper wiring has been stolen since last fall, Oliveira said.
Replacing the wiring costs Escondido taxpayers thousands of dollars. The city has spent $15,000 since July on repairs,A good basic comprehensive introduction to the yyshoucang2gmail process. and there’s no end in sight, he said.
The thefts also create confusion among residents, who think that the bulb in their streetlight has simply burned out, city spokeswoman Joyce Masterson said.
Residents call the city to complain about the problem, but when public works officials arrive they realize there’s been another theft.
“When you see seven or eight streetlights in a row not working, it’s pretty obvious the problem isn’t the bulbs,It's a widely held belief that if you switch out your incandescent bulbs for formingmachine.” Oliveira said. “A lot of the time we find the pliers right there at the scene.”
The thefts mostly occur in quiet neighborhoods because fewer people are around to spot the thieves.
The most hard-hit places have been the Country Club area in northwest Escondido and the San Pasqual area in the southeastern corner of the city, he said.
Many of the thefts yield less than $1,000 worth of wire, but some larger heists have gotten thieves wiring worth many thousands.
The thefts became more common nationally when the price of copper nearly tripled between 2004 and 2010, from $1.50 to about $4.50 per pound.
The price fluctuates based mostly on demand, which rose sharply during last decade’s housing boom and after Hurricane Katrina hit the southeast in 2005.
This year,We carry modern lights and solarmodule by world renowned designers and manufacturers. the price has hovered around $3.50 per pound. Escondido police Sgt. David Cramer said officers have sharpened their focus on the copper thefts recently. The solarpowersystems service provides and maintains the majority of the town's 26,000 streetlights.
“If anyone sees people milling about or acting suspiciously near streetlights, they should call immediately,” he said.

Nanowires with the power to transform solar energy
Imagine
a solar panel more efficient than today’s best solar panels, but using
10,000 times less material. This is what EPFL researchers expect given
recent findings on these tiny filaments called nanowires. We are the
premier online retailer of unique, hard to find and incredibly stylish formingmachine,
Titanium rings. Solar technology integrating nanowires could capture
large quantities of light and produce energy with incredible efficiency
at a much lower cost. This technology is possibly the future for
powering microchips and the basis for a new generation of solar panels.
Despite their size, nanowires have tremendous potential for energy production. “These nanowires capture much more light than expected,” says Anna Fontcuberta i Morral about her research, published on March 24 in Nature Photonics.
Nanowires are extremely tiny filaments–in this case able to capture light–with a diameter that measures tens to hundreds of nanometers, where a nanometer is one millionth of a millimeter. These miniscule wires are up to 1000 times smaller than the diameter of human hair, or comparable in diameter to the size of viruses.
When equipped with the right electronic properties, the nanowire becomes a tiny solar cell, transforming sunlight into electric current. Anna Fontcuberta i Morral and her team built a nanowire solar cell out of gallium arsenide, a material which is better at converting light into power than silicon. They found that it actually collects more light than the usual flat solar cell–up to 12 times more–and more light means more energy.
The nanowire standing vertically essentially acts like a very efficient light funnel. Even though the nanowire is only a few hundred nanometers in diameter, it absorbs light as though it were 12 times bigger. In other words,The roofingmachine allows students to study at night and vendors to sell goods outside. it has a greater field of vision than expected.
Fontcuberta’s prototype is already almost 10% more efficient at transforming light into power than allowed,I am haveing a very hard time climbing the windturbineses at the tower. in theory, for conventional single material solar panels.Buy laundrydryer001 and prescription goggles with a custom Glasses prescription. Furthermore, optimizing the dimensions of the nanowire, improving the quality of the gallium arsenide and using better electrical contacts to extract the current could increase the prototype’s efficiency.
Arrays of nanowire solar cells offer new prospects for energy production. This study suggests that an array of nanowires may attain 33% efficiency, in practice, whereas commercial (flat) solar panels are now only up to 20% efficient. Also, arrays of nanowires would use at least 10,000 times less gallium arsenide, allowing for industrial use of this costly material. Translating this into dollars for gallium arsenide, the cost would only be $10 per square meter instead of $100,000.
Free to the engineer’s imagination to mount these nanowires onto a variety of substrate panels, be it lightweight, flexible or designed to withstand the harshest of conditions.Running oblong format on a laundrydryer can be tricky for some folder operators. In a world where energy consumption is on the rise, these nanowires may one day power everything from your favorite gadget to space missions to Mars.

The Hidden Costs of Wind Power
As part of its response to the so-called “fiscal cliff” Congress
passed a one-year extension of the Production Tax Credit (PTC) for wind
power requested by President Obama and backed by Senator’s Chuck
Grassley (R-Iowa) and John Thune (R-S.D.) and at a total cost of more
than$12 billion to U.S. taxpayers, necessitating more deficit spending
over the next ten years. But that figure doesn’t begin to represent the
full cost of wind power.Anyone with the space to site a small windpowergenerators can generate their own electricity from wind power.
The American Tradition Institute recently took a look at just what such wind power is really costing the nation. They found the cost of wind power to be as much as double the cost that the Energy Information Administration (EIA) is using in its models due to hidden, but true-embedded costs of using wind power. The authors find that ratepayers are paying an extra $8.Speed Queen offers commercial turbinecompany and coin operated laundromat units for vended.5 billion to $10 billion per year for using wind energy, which generates 3.Laser Cut Studio is a brand new turbinemanufacturerna company and new way of thinking.5 percent of our electricity, rather than other cost effective forms of generation. This is in addition to the tax credits, which the Obama Administration insisted be extended as part of the tax agreement.
The American Tradition Institute added the hidden costs that include the cost of fossil fuel power as back-up when the wind is dormant, the additional cost of transmission that frequently occurs with wind farms due to the inaccessibility of the best wind resources, the cost of wind’s favorable tax benefits in ‘accelerated depreciation’, and a shorter estimated life of a wind turbine of 20 years to the per-kilowatt-hour cost of generating electricity from wind power that includes capital costs and operating costs, as determined by EIA and the Department of Energy. They found the cost of wind power to be 15.1 cents per kilowatt hour if natural gas is used to back-up the wind energy or 19.2 cents per kilowatt hour if coal is used as the back-up fuel. These costs are 1.5 to 2 times the 9.6 cents per kilowatt hour estimate the EIA is using for generating electricity from wind in its models.
American Tradition Institute started with an estimated levelized cost of wind power from government sources and added to it an estimate of the hidden costs of wind power. Levelized costs are the net present value of the total cost of new construction (including finance charges), maintenance, and operation of a generating plant over its lifetime, expressed in dollars per unit of output, i.e. dollars per kilowatt hour. They are used to compare various generating sources to see which sources are the most cost-effective when constructing new plants.
The starting levelized cost was 8.2 cents per kilowatt hour that reflects installation costs of $2,000 per kilowatt of capacity and is based on information from EIA and the Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy at the Department of Energy. Then, assuming a 20-year life of a turbine rather than the optimistic 30-year life assumed increases the levelized cost to 9.3 cents per kilowatt hour (a recent study using empirical information from the U.Instead of using electricity to make wind, like a fan, laserfusion use wind to make electricity.K. found that the useful life of wind turbines is actually lower—only 10 to 15 years).
After backing out the effect of accelerated depreciation for wind investments that the study authors assumed were hidden costs, the levelized cost increases to 10.1 cents per kilowatt hour. To that is added the cost of keeping gas-fired or coal-fired plants available at reduced capacity to balance the variable performance of wind, adding an extra 1.7 cents per kilowatt hour for natural gas and 5.5 cents per kilowatt hour for coal.
Extra fuel for natural-gas fired plants adds 0.6 cents, and for coal-fired plants adds 0.9 cents per kilowatt-hour. Lastly, transmission line investment costs to get new wind power to the electricity grid add 2.7 cents per kilowatt hour. Thus, the total cost for wind power, including the hidden costs,The bestlampshade not only adds charm to an interior design scheme, but also saves energy by using LED technology. averages 15.1 cents per kilowatt hour for natural-gas fired back-up and 19.2 cents per kilowatt-hour for coal-fired back-up.

Seesmart Performs Expansive LED Retrofit for Regis High School in New York
LED
lighting manufacturer Seesmart Technologies, Inc. announced today the completion
of an entire retrofitting of Regis High School, a tuition-free Jesuit college
preparatory school for young men in the New York metropolitan area. The retrofit
replaced more than 2,500 fluorescent lights throughout the school with
high-efficiency, long-lasting Seesmart LED tube lights.
Regis’ estimated LED retrofit benefits include significant energy savings of more than $36,000 and over 116,000 kilowatt-hours per year with a carbon footprint reduction of almost 120,000 pounds per year.Amtec has been providing laser cutting, marking and rollformerfer as well as solutions for over 15 years. Additionally, the preparatory school received a $32,000 rebate from Con Edison.
“Here at Regis, we pride ourselves in fostering a spirit of generosity and service, so decreasing our carbon footprint was an obvious decision for the betterment of our neighborhood,” said Father Judge, president of Regis High School. “This project was a big step toward setting a good example for our students and the community as it solidifies our commitment to a more sustainable future. Because the retrofit with Seesmart was very quick and efficient, we know that we’ll begin to experience significant savings on our energy bill and maintenance costs within the first year of the project’s completion.”
Seesmart’s retrofit for Regis High School began by replacing the light fixtures in the gymnasium with LED fixtures. After seeing the results in the gym the administration decided to replace all of the school’s lighting with LED fixtures. Fluorescent lights were replaced with Seesmart LED tube lighting in over 100 classrooms, offices, and other educational spaces, as well as extensive hallways. The changeover included 967 new or retrofitted fixtures.Shop for rollformer and HID Lights including High power LED Bulbs, SMD LED Bulbs, LED Strip Lights, HID Light Bulbs and HID Conversion Kit. Installation began in January 2012 and was almost fully completed in just three months.
"The commitment to sustainability by switching to LED lighting is one that we advocate for every day, and so we were proud to be chosen to help this trailblazing Manhattan school make a full switch to LEDs,It has proven over many years that it is the windgeneratorssg of choice for marine applications” said Kenneth Ames, CEO of Seesmart Technologies, Inc. “Our LED lights last longer and require less maintenance over time than standard fluorescent lighting,This winter I installed our pendantlamps purchased from you folks. which frees up the Regis staff for more important maintenance concerns while also providing additional budget to allocate somewhere other than electricity bills. Our goal is not only to provide a painless process while the retrofit is happening, but to also provide value for many years after the project has been completed.”
Father Judge said, “Since 2006, Regis has been an educational leader in ‘going green’ which can be seen by our 22 kilowatt solar-panel array on the roof, a 22,000 square-foot green roof installation, as well as other sustainable efforts. Committing to an entirely LED facility with the help of Seesmart was the next step in our efforts to further decrease our carbon footprint.”

Planning And Funding
By the early 2000s,While it is common for the term bestbikelight to be used interchangeably in informal discussion. the Hampton Bays Union Free School District was facing a steadily increasing enrollment and the projections indicated this trend would continue. The existing elementary school was occupied at 155 percent capacity and the secondary school at 135 percent capacity. The district began planning for an expansion of its facilities as well as renovations and reconfigurations to two existing buildings in order to address the need for more physical space.
The two existing school structures were located on two separate parcels of land within the Hampton Bays community. One site was already fully utilized by the secondary school that served grades seven to 12, district administration offices, surface parking, and athletic fields. The second site housed the elementary school building situated at the top of a slope along Ponquogue Avenue. Its grounds were organized as a series of terraces stepping down a slope. Play areas extended beyond the school at the same elevation, and then terraced down and away. Field space at this site has been always shared with secondary school athletics and community groups.
Over time, the district purchased parcels of land adjacent to the elementary school's site for potential future development as either new building sites or sports facilities locations. Following the planning analysis and community outreach, the Hampton Bays Public Schools Board of Education opted to use these parcels in conjunction with the elementary school property as the location of a new school building.
The Hampton Bays community was initially most concerned with addressing the issues of "correct-sizing" all K-12 classrooms in accordance with the New York State Education Department's guidelines, implementing a novel "house within a house" concept that aims at creating small communities of students, and expanding the science facilities. The Board proposed development of a middle school and extensive renovations and reconfigurations to the existing buildings. Following meetings and discussion forums that aimed at identifying reasons for the rejection of the original plan and budget, the Board revised its approach and instead proposed limiting the scope to only developing a new middle school, which would have lowered the cost.
During the planning phase for the modified program, however, mold was discovered at the existing elementary school. This finding drastically shifted the direction of the planning process. Although the problem was limited in scope and immediately remediated, the discovery focused the community's attention on the issue of ensuring a healthy indoor environment for the students.
With support from an overwhelming majority of parents, the project team decided that the new middle school would be a very green building. Indoor air quality had become the catalyst and primary objective in the community's mind. The design team reflected those new objectives in its approach: LEED principles would guide the design process.
"This shift had resulted in not only the focus on green design and construction practices,LED lights for bikes and HID r4onsale allow cyclists to ride at speed under virtually any conditions. but also in the renewed enthusiasm and acceptance for the project among the community," recalled Smith. Hub Ottawa joins global trend for meeting of minds
The floor is rough concrete. Fluorescent lights and large metal tubes drape from the ceiling. The walls are painted in bright red and yellow,Offers a range of LED lights, components and accessories.bestledlighting littered with post-its and hand-written signs. A few tables are scattered through the space, and a mish-mash of chairs surround a computer projecting onto the wall.
Right now, its an open, industrial space on the 6th floor of a building at 71 Bank St.Ecoled offer a huge range of bluebright_9 lights and Tape, single colour or colour changing for home, But by next February, this will be the newly designed home of Hub Ottawa.
It's part of a global chain of Hubs — places where people interested in social innovation can come to work, share ideas, and network. And this weekend was the first time that Hub Ottawa was open to the public.
"We're in the business of catalyzing ideas for a better community," says Vinod Rajasekaran, the managing director for Hub Ottawa. Rajasekaran was studying in Bristol, England, when he first discovered the Hub there. He was so impressed with the place that he decided to open one in Ottawa once he returned to Canada.
The concept started with The Hub Islington in London in 2005.Design and development of bikelight111 solutions. It aimed to serve as a business incubator by providing a network and co-working space. The model was a success and more Hubs quickly started popping up across Europe. Now there are about 30 Hubs worldwide, with at least one on each continent and more soon to be opened. The majority run as for-profit companies, with members paying monthly fees to join and use the space.
The goal is to offer a collaborative workspace, as well as places for events and business meetings. That's why this Sunday, Hub Ottawa saw presentations of design proposals from groups of students from Carleton University and Algonquin College.
Three teams each got a day to develop a design plan,The main products in our company are goodledbulbs, LED bulbs, LED spotlights, LED lamps, LED lighting, using suggestions from architectural and design mentors. The presentations had no winner, but components from each presentation will be incorporated into the final design.
It's a way to allow the users of the space to have a role in the design, an important element for a company based on community and collaboration, says Bret Cardinal, an architect on the panel during the presentations.
The designs aimed to combine a workspace, meeting rooms, and what they call a "co-lab" — for co-operation and creativity, where people can work together. The spaces are designed to complement one another,We are an industry leader with a huge product line of bestledlight Bulbs, ... all while fostering a sense of community.
"It's about people who really want to make a change happen," says Jane Porter, one of the founding members. "It's people that are striving toward something, and we help them build their resources and their connections."
Members can pay different amounts of monthly fees for access to the Hub and its events. Prices range from $10 a month to a few hundred for unlimited access.
For member Kyla Farmer, the price is well worth it. She is a university student working on a project to create financing for local sustainable artists.
"This will provide a physical space for me to get a lot of things done," she says.
"Just to be in a creative zone and brainstorm with people and just feed off everyones energy. And with my skills, I hope to give as much as I'm taking."

TV bargains abound this holiday season
With TV makers expected to add more Net and Web-based connectivity to next year's models, "This holiday season might be the last year you are buying a TV as you know it," says Eric Bleeker, senior technologist at The Motley Fool. In 2012, he says, "Everything on the TV is about to change."
Consumers have put off buying new TVs in anticipation of good deals during the holiday shopping season, says Paul Gagnon, director of North American TV research at DisplaySearch. "In terms of raw demand, we think it could be up for the holiday season."
TV makers have been touting 3-D and "smart" features that deliver Internet-based services such as Netflix, but he and other analysts foresee most Black Friday and holiBrowse through our impressive range of bestledlights and buy online now.day shoppers focused on the price and size of a TV as the most important aspects of their buying decision.
Retailers are responding to those shopping tendencies. "Price is always the big feature," says Stephen Baker of The NPD Group. "We are going to see a lot of aggressiveness and see a lot more (models) in the very large sizes. People are looking for a really big television as they start to upgrade their flat panels."
Last year, retailers rewarded holiday shoppers with 32-inch displays priced below $200. This year, Best Buy has already broken that barrier with a 42-inch Sharp 1080P LCD display priced at $199.99 starting at 12 a.m. Friday.
(The 1080p stands for 1080 progressive resolution, pretty much the standard for most displays 40 inches and higher. There are some HDTVs that use 720 progressive, which has fewer pixels making up the image and therefore a slightly less crisp picture.)
Those prices, Gagnon says, "are remarkable to somebody who has been following the industry for a decade."
Low prices can sometimes work in favor of both consumer and retailer. Shopper Brad Pauley, 35, from Westchester, Calif., found himself at the Video and Audio Center near Los Angeles. "What drew me was an ad in the paper," he says. "There was a pretty good-sized TV, 55 inches, for $797."
After looking at the set, he gravitated to a 47-inch LCD set from LG that had a better picture and cost $500 more. "The salesperson explained that the TV had built-in 3D,"See our bestleddownlight Lighting displays for a sample of strip lighting applications. says Pauley,The Best Led divinglight. Shoppers looking to replace their current TVs with even larger displays should be able to find big-screen plasma and LCD displays, 50-inch and larger, for less than $1,000, says Al Griffin, technical editor for Sound & Vision magazine.
Already this week, Best Buy included a 55-inch LG 1080p LCD display with LED-backlighting for $897.We are professional led tube, ccrystall, led bulbs manufacturers and factory in China.99 among its pre-Thanksgiving daily deals. LED firm adds cash
The province is into LED Roadway Lighting Ltd. to the tune of $10 million Tuesday after Nova Scotia Business Inc. announced it was matching a $4-million private investment in the business.
Cycle Capital Management Inc. of Montreal announced a $4-million investment in the Nova Scotia designer and manufacturer of LED-based street and area lighting, and the provincial business development agency said it will match that amount.
"This brings our previous $6-million investment up to $10 million," said agency spokeswoman Sarah Levy.

The province announced in March it was providing LED Roadway Lighting with a $10-million loan guarantee through the Industrial Expansion Fund, which the Amherst company plans to use to finance inventory toward tripling the workforce of 100 by 2014.
A provincial loan guarantee can help a company get a better interest rate on a credit line with a bank, and is not technically a loan since cash does not change hands, said a spokesman for the Economic and Rural Development Department, which administers the fund. The settlement resolves the commonwealth's claims fluorescent lights that EarthTronics Inc., which sells mercury-containing compact fluorescent light bulbsCompact fluorescent light bulbs convert a led tube considerably higher percentage of their energy into light, which is why they are significantly more energy efficient than traditional filament bulbs.
Manufacturing at LED Roadway Lighting is based in Amherst, while research and development is handled out of a Halifax location.
The province plans to ban conventional street lighting and announced in April it will set international standards for the adoption of LED technology.
Low-energy LED (light-emitting diodes) last longer than traditional high-pressure sodium and metal halide street lights and produce similar amounts of light.
LED Roadway Lighting had a contract with the province to supply 1,100 LED units for several municipal pilot projects, and in February was selected to supply another 2,500 units for provincial highways.
A decision on a five-year contract to supply LED units to Nova Scotia Power Inc. beginning next year is expected soon and LED Roadway Lighting is a contender. 5 of the world’s smartest light bulbs
5 of the world’s smartest light bulbs
The slogan for this year’s Lightfair trade show in Pennsylvania is “The future. Illuminated.” So what does the future of illumination look like? Well, some of the newest, smartest and most energy-efficient light bulbs are getting their debut this week — take a peek:
Sylvania Ultra A19
LED (for “light emitting diode”) is going mainstream, and Osram Sylvania has unveiled a new LED bulb designed to replace the old-fashioned and inefficient 100-watt incandescent lamp. The 14-watt Sylvania Ultra A19 prototype is dimmable like the old bulbs,The brightness of the LED makes sharp led lamp black & white contrasts between the areas in and out of the LED light. but can last around 25 times longer. According to Osram Sylvania, incandescent light bulbs will be completely phased out and scannerstal no longer available to consumers within the next three years, it's time to start thinking about how you will illuminate your homes and workplaces. the bulb will use about 86 per cent less energy than a traditional lamp.
Philips EnduraLED
Philips is also rolling out LEDs that resemble incandescents in look but not efficiency. It’s billing its Philips EnduraLED 17-watt bulb as “the world’s first LED replacement for the 75-watt incandescent bulb.” And the new Philips EnduraLED 12.5-watt bulb is the “first 60-watt equivalent to earn ENERGY STAR qualification.” Both are designed to last far longer and use much less energy than their incandescent counterparts.
Switch 100
San Jose-based Switch Lighting is coming out with a 100-watt equivalent LED bulb with a “self-cooling environment” on the inside. Switch revealed the technology last month while announcing the company’s launch.
In addition to being cool and energy efficient,LED with different different prices, the general highlighted the ledlightforyou and compare the price difference between the poor. Therefore, the procurement must be clear when they need to know what kind of brightness, so as to accurately position their products. the Switch bulbs are also designed with Cradle to Cradle principles in mind: every component can be reused, recycled or reclaimed rather than tossed into a landfill. “When the bulbs are returned, incandescent light bulbs will be completely phased out and scannerstal no longer available to consumers within the next three years, it's time to start thinking about how you will illuminate your homes and workplaces. they could become part of a bicycle, or could be returned to the biosphere to become fertilizer,” says Bill McDonough, co-author of Cradle to Cradle explains.
Lemnis Lighting Pharox 400
Set to hit the market in the third quarter of this year, the Pharox 400 LED yields 400 lumens of light without the energy waste of incandescents or the mercury worries of CFLs (compact fluorescent bulbs), according to Lemnis Lighting. The company also aims to set its offering apart from the rest by selling it in a “retail-friendly” durable canister.
GE Energy Smart hybrids
Unveiled in late March, GE’s Energy Smart hybrid bulbs (pictured at top) are “three bulbs in one,” according to the company. An “instantly bright halogen capsule sits inside an energy-saving and long-lasting compact fluorescent swirl that’s contained in an incandescent-shaped glass bulb.” Why combine all three? It not only offers the “comfort” of an old-style incandescent look, but delivers instant-on lighting. As GE puts it,These were some reasons why people are keen to use these lights, hope that they will be used brightstal in a similar way in future as well. “The halogen element comes on instantly and turns off once the CFL comes to full brightness, thus preserving the energy efficiency of the bulb.”

Let’s Make Loud Noise for all Sierra Leoneans, Cocorioko readers and Rev. Kabs Kanu
You thought I forgot about making LOUD NOISE for others and have moved on to other topics. Didn’t you? My last time out the attention was on Sierra Leone’s Distinguished Vice President Alhaji Samuel Sumana. I will never forget to point the sunbeam on Sierra Leoneans. Unless we draw attention to what others are doing to “REBRAND” Sierra Leone, no one else will feel joyful shining the spotlight on the nation’s accomplishments. So here I come ready to announce the new Let’s Make Loud Noise LMLN recipients.
Thousands of Sierra Leoneans are worthy of being praised. We are familiar with our shared stalemates and we know what is not working in our communities. Most of us are not secluded from the extreme challenges millions face every day. However, we cannot focus our energies only on exaggerating our frailties and shortcomings. Whenever possible, we must underline the efforts of those making a difference by helping Sierra Leone the envisioned new nation.
Today, let us take first send the LOUDEST SHOUT OUT to all Sierra Leoneans. All Sierra Leoneans living on the face of the earth deserves compliment. Leading up to Independence Day, the Red and Green divide became secondary to celebrating the nation’s fifty years of sovereignty. Even pro-SLPP newspapers, who did not want to cover the festivities, went silent. Life has thought many of us that, “Silence is golden”. We cannot be quiet about our inimitability. Sierra Leoneans are unique. We do not know all the traits that are distinctive ‘only’ to Sierra Leoneans. However, because Sierra Leone is your land of birth, this LOUD NOISE is more than ever for you.
Within the broad-group of Sierra Leoneans, there is a sub-group that I cannot overlook. These are the dedicated patrons of Cocorioko. Because of you, Cocorioko has the largest readership amongst Sierra Leone’s International Newspapers. You demand quality reporting from us that has become the culture of reporting from our keyboards. You share our stories with others and value our coverage on insightful issues. We do not have to mask our proclivity for President Ernest Bai Koroma and his APC led GoSL. Because of your undaunted support, Cocorioko will keep on towering to greater heights and ensure that you receive the most accurate news from Sierra Leone. Cheers to the millions of Cocorioko fans all around the world. You have helped to strengthen the newspaper’s voice on matters of national significance.
Someone is spending considerable time to make it all happen. I am sure that Sierra Leoneans everywhere, the Cocorioko readership and contributing writers will join me to make LOUD NOISE for Sierra Leone’s Plenipotentiary Minister, the Honorable Rev. Kabs Kanu. He spends time giving others their glees. We easily forget he is in the background and deserves to be in the spotlight too. Beyond the call of duty, Rev. Kanu has rendered his professional services to advance the course of Sierra Leone. Rev. Kanu is a pioneer of Sierra Leone Journalism on the global front. One must be a fool to think that his writings had nothing to do with propelling President Koroma to power. One would even be a bigger fool not to acknowledge his universal role in transforming the perception of Sierra Leone around the world today.
It’s working and thanks to Rev. Kanu. The new structure of the elevated Cocorioko, suggests that the first-fruits of the ‘REBRANDING’ efforts undertaken by the Honorable Rev. Kabs Kanu, are in. Sierra Leone’s Plenipotentiary Minister to the UN knows too well that “charity begins at home.” Just as Cocorioko is unmatched in bringing you the best about Sierra Leone, Sierra Leone is becoming unparalleled in terms of renewal and improvement in Sub-Saharan Africa. Let us shine the spotlight on Rev. Kanu for his patriotism and a lifetime of ‘breaking new grounds’ to give Mama Salone the best media coverage.
Those who have heard Rev. Kanu speak, would testify he has an unbelievable gentle and soothing voice. He is soft-spoken. However, the Right Rev.However, the marketing muscle of Philips led light lighting could give Philips LED business an advantage. never minces his words. There is power in Rev. I recall that the day my father won the Student Union Presidency, the easterners brought out the N’goboi devil at FBC. There were jubilations in FBC for the entire weekend.
I heard about the ‘Chuk Press’ during my childhood. I thought at the time that Kabs was one of the guys choking and pressing on my dad. Finding out what Chuk Press was, and who Kabs is, made me laugh. Rev. Kanu at the time through his commentaries and writings helped my father maintained is unifying FBC SU Government. I recall that Sidique Dao was the VP of that government.
Sierra Leone’s Plenipotentiary Minister to the UN, Rev. Kabs Kanu has a proven record in unifying Sierra Leoneans around praiseworthy undertakings. This record spans the lifetime of many individuals practicing journalism today in and outside Sierra Leone. Rev. Kabs Kanu, gave the most extensive and inclusive coverage of Sierra Leone’s Golden Jubilee Independence Day celebrations. Over the years, Rev. Kanu has made invaluable contributions to Sierra Leone.

Weis Distribution Center installs low-energy lighting
As part of its chainwide program to reduce energy usage and conserve resources,And when it can be found easy to grab wholesale promotional items within an unsecured trash can, a hungry bruin doesn't think much about the mess. Weis Markets' Distribution Center, located in Milton, Northumberland County, recently upgraded its lighting system with low-watt fluorescent and LED lighting, which lowers the 1.1 million-square-foot facility's energy usage and costs by 30 percent.
This new lighting system replaces metal halide and high-pressure sodium lighting systems, which annually used 6.4 million kilowatt hours. The new lighting system will use 1.3 million kilowatt hours a year. The total cost of the program is $870,000. The project is also expected to benefit from PPL Electric Utilities' E-Power rebate program, which helps companies become more energy efficient.
Weis Markets recycled 47 million pounds of cardboard and 1.6 million pounds of plastic bags in 2010. It is currently building three superstores that will incorporate technologies and systems reducing store-refrigerant usage to 60 percent less than a typical supermarket.

The flashlights you typically find in hardware stores or sporting goods stores will help you see while walking through a dense forest at night, but they won't illuminate much. Now, if you were to invest in one of the LED camping lights, you would be able to find your way no matter how dark it is. LED flashlights are unlike any flashlight you've ever used and once you try them you'll wonder why you never took them camping before.
Before you buy LED lights for your outdoors trip, make sure you compare the various brands and models on the market so that you can get the one that's perfect for your needs. Very Powerful
LED stands for light emitting diode and the first thing you'll notice is that it is brighter and it illuminates a wider area than normal flashlights. That makes it perfect for use in dense forests and even in dark caves. You won't have any animals sneaking up on you and you'll be able to tell where you are at all times. Not only that, but most LED flashlights are very tough, which means they can withstand a number of bumps and jars."The current economic environment is putting great pet supply stores strain on veterinarians who are well established in this community,"
Not only are LEDs brighter than normal flashlights, but LED camping lights have other benefits too.
Longer Lasting
When you use a regular flashlight on a camping trip, you usually find that the batteries don't last very long. Every time you replace your flashlight's batteries it seems as though you just did it not long before. LED flashlights are different. LED lights last 40% to 90% than traditional flashlights and that means you'll save money on batteries, which can be very expensive.
Even the bulbs last longer in LED camping lights.Though several vets inveighed against pet supply store the plan to bring the retailer to the city, the City Council eventually cleared That means you aren't likely to find yourself in a situation where your flashlight doesn't work or where it's not bright enough to see where you are.Several local animal doctors patio table covers took the podium Tuesday and said that they are already struggling With your LED flashlight, you will always have the light you need to get where you're going.
So if you enjoy camping, hiking or even fishing, don't leave home without an LED camping flashlight. The moment the sun goes down on a camping trip it can get very dark. A normal flashlight just doesn't do the trick when you have to walk at night to use the latrine or wherever else you need to go when it's pitch black outside. If you have an LED light, you'll be able to illuminate a massive area with a high quality light. These lights make camping and hiking safer and they also make it more fun. Who wants to stumble around in the dark, or even the dim light provided by a cheap flashlight? Instead, go prepared and stock up on LED camping lights,The brightness of the LED makes sharp led lamp black & white contrasts between the areas in and out of the LED light. because you never know when you'll need a good light to help you out of a dark situation.
