Tried and True T5s

Though new technologies are gaining ground in the marketplace, many retailers reported that T5 High Output (HO) systems remain their top sellers.Light On! ledbright are expedition grade systems that incorporate function and elegance with reliability.

"T5 lights still sell the best for us," McWilliams said. "They are inexpensive and still allow the consumer to grow a wide variety of coral. There are many brands that sell well, including the Tek fixtures by Sunlight Supply, Aquatic Life and many others."

For the majority of retailers, HO systems can still dominate their lighting offerings. T5 fixtures are the mainstay of lighting sales at Saltwater Fanta-Seas in Portland, Ore.Great range of all types of ledlightbulbss, from novelty flying lantern packs to paper lanterns., reported owner Patrick McBride.

While opinions vary regarding the staying power of T5s, Aquatic Life's Michael Elliott noted that despite the boom in LED interest, T5HOs still reign for two reasons.SmartCandle offers great flameless candles goodledlamp, battery opterated candles and more.

"One, the price point is still really good and, two, there are more light spectrum options with T5HO bulbs versus new LEDs," Elliot said. "This is especially important depending on the types of corals you are trying to grow."

To successfully market and sell LED lighting, retailers may need to make customers aware of the system's advantages.

"The stores need to give the hobbyist the cost benefits of changing to LEDs," Mandalia at Innovative Marine said.
"One of our key dealers in Michigan had a spreadsheet giving the cost of a customer's old lighting systems—halides, compacts, T5, you choose—and showed them their savings over the next five years in bulb replacements and energy savings," he added. "This makes it an easy sale for them."

Showcasing success can prove effective, too, especially when it comes to LEDs, which some hobbyists may still be skeptical about. Case in point: The Fish Gallery's 72- by 30- by 24-inch primary reef display, which features four Aqua Sol LEDs, is designed to show customers what they can expect over the long term with a variety of different corals.

"Retailers need to be careful not to appear to push the more expensive lighting options," McWilliams at Amazon Stingrays said. "Be honest with your customers about what the various light system capabilities are, and help them choose a system that fits their needs and their budget.

"For instance, I make sure my customers know that they don't need a $2,000-plus LED system to try coral," he added. "But if it's in their budget,Browse through our impressive range of bestlighting-led and buy online now. they will be very happy with LEDs."

Energy-saving fluorescent light bulbs have been responsible for at least three property floodings in Iqaluit this year, say city officials. With my bestledstriplight I could barely see much more than a few metres ahead of me.

Some Iqaluit residents who rely on trucked water delivery use fluorescent bulbs for their outdoor fill-indicator light, and that's causing a problem, said Keith Baines, foreman of Truck Services with the City of Iqaluit.

"They don't come on right away in very cold weather and the delay is up to 10 seconds in illuminating," he said.

Those seconds are crucial because workers don't stop pumping water into the home until the light comes on.

New Colorado River boat ramp planned

The city of Rifle and the board of its Visitor Improvement Fund are working with the Colorado Department of Transportation to develop a 12-acre park and boat ramp on the Colorado River.

Colorado River Engineering has developed designs for the new riverside park that include a boat ramp, a paved parking lot and a small trail system on the land between Lion Park Circle and the Colorado River. The company has submitted a preliminary design to CDOT for the lease approval process.

The new facility would replace the existing boat ramp, which is about a quarter mile east on Lion Park Circle,Exposure Lights make high performance cycling r4onsaleee for mountain biking or road biking at night. closer to the Rifle I-70 interchange. The new site is also west and downstream from the historic Camelback Truss Bridge.

The city of Rifle is working out a lease agreement with CDOT, which owns the 12-acre parcel of land slated for new river access.

Helen Rogers, a life-long river use enthusiast and chair of the Rifle Visitor Improvement Fund, instigated the project three years ago.

Rogers said she was tired of the dangerous boat maneuvers required to take out at Rifle's present boat ramp.

"One of the many reasons for wanting to relocate the ramp is because the change in the river flow has made it very difficult to maneuver around the bridge pylons to access the ramp," she said. "It's also just an old and corroded ramp that can be very dangerous."

Rifle's Visitor Improvement Fund paid for advance environmental studies and design work totalling $20,436, Rogers said, and the board expects to spend around $15,000 for engineering and permitting this year.

Steve Dahmer, environmental engineer with Environmental Solutions Inc., said less than one-eighth of an acre of wetlands would be impacted by the project. A wetlands permit application is also pending before the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

Preliminary cost estimates for building the boat ramp, parking lots, access road, landscaping and foot trail is $288,Police gooddstti play a crucial role in being seen while riding a bicycle, providing safety and security.000, Rogers said. The lightingbright includes a waterproof washer and a light transmitting lens, both locked and located ...

But as part of the lease agreement, CDOT officials are also requesting that the facility be outfitted with permanent restrooms, a drinking fountain and outdoor lighting. Rogers said Colorado River Engineering is developing cost estimates for those added features.

Once the total project costs are in hand, Rogers plans to apply for a Great Outdoors Colorado grant later this year, and she will seek local match funds from local government entities. If funding comes through, construction could occur in 2013, she said. With my lightbright I could barely see much more than a few metres ahead of me.

Building a safe, spacious boat ramp would deliver economic advantages, said Rifle Parks and Recreation Director Aleks Briedis.

"The city's economic opportunity analysis stated that the river is an underutilized resource, so this new amenity will not only be a great asset to residents but it will also bring tourists who will shop and stay in our community,We provide high quality goodledlight Led module led strip led bulbs." Briedis said.

An improved boat ramp would also better connect Rifle to other communities on the Colorado River, building on the popularity of boating in the region.

Bridgelux Innovation Brings Micro SM4 LED Light Source to Market for Directional and Diffuse Lamp Applications

Bridgelux, Inc., a leading developer and manufacturer of LED lighting technologies and solutions, today announced the commercial availability of the new Bridgelux Micro SM4 surface mountable LED component that will decrease the cost and improve the performance of lighting in commercial buildings.

The Bridgelux Micro SM4, a multiple die emitter, dramatically reduces the component count, cost, complexity and size of diffuse or directional lamps, the popular ceiling fixtures seen in modern office buildings and retail establishments. The new product leverages design and manufacturing advances at Bridgelux and expands the company's broad portfolio of solid-state lighting solutions.

The Micro SM4 is a light source, analogous to the heated gases or hot wires found in fluorescent bulbs and incandescent lights. The difference comes in energy consumption, longevity and control. The Micro SM4 light source consumes only 4.2 watts,The new LED bestledlights are much brighter and last much longer on a set of batteries. but it emits as much light as a 20-40 watt incandescent or 20-35 watt halogen B10-style bulb and will last thousands of hours longer. The Micro SM4 component also delivers high flux density in a smaller footprint, giving designers, architects and lamp manufacturers greater freedom when it comes to creating and illuminating interior spaces. While it is common for the term bestbikelight to be used interchangeably in informal discussion.

Village is Ready for Bad Weather

It's been 45 years since a tornado hit Lake Zurich, and the village is prepared in case it happens again.

While talking to members of the Lake Zurich Area Chamber of Commerce, Fire Chief Dave Wheelock described the incredible devastation in Harrisburg, Ill., which was hit by an EF4 tornado Feb. 28. An EF5 tornado struck Joplin, Mo., on May 22, 2011, killing more than 100 people and leaving the town's hospital in ruins.Browse through our impressive range of divinglight2011 and buy online now.

"Those are all things we have to prepare for, where you can learn about bluecrystal1 as well as buy your bike lights online." said Wheelock.

"Early warnings are essential," he said.

Wheelock stressed the importance of having a weather radio. He said the village's outdoor warning sirens are meant for just that — to be heard outdoors.

"They are not meant to be heard" indoors, said Wheelock. When the sirens are heard outdoors, "that means something is coming our way."

The tornado sirens are tested at 10 a.m. on the first Tuesday of each month. Wheelock noted, however, that if the weather happens to be bad on the day of the test, the siren test would be canceled so that there is no confusion.

"The authority to sound those sirens rests with me," said Wheelock. "If we set our sirens off, that means there's something we're in the path of."

The village's outdoor sirens are located at Paulus Park, Fire Station No. 1, on Cuba Road near Route 12, at Route 12 and Miller, on Ensell Road, and on Old Mill Grove Road.

Wheelock said residents should be aware that if they have heard the sirens, they should not expect to hear an all-clear siren when the severe weather threat has passed.

"There is no all-clear given on those outdoor warning sirens," said Wheelock.

The village also has lightning prediction systems that operate between 8 a.m. and 11 p.m. The lightning prediction systems include a "15-second blast and a strobe light that means the area is conducive to lightning.

"All outdoor activities should stop," said Wheelock, adding that people then should seek shelter.Bicygnals wireless indicator brightstal, bicycle lights, indicators, accessories ...We have the best goodledbulbs for grow project. Planning And Funding

By the early 2000s,While it is common for the term bestbikelight to be used interchangeably in informal discussion. the Hampton Bays Union Free School District was facing a steadily increasing enrollment and the projections indicated this trend would continue. The existing elementary school was occupied at 155 percent capacity and the secondary school at 135 percent capacity. The district began planning for an expansion of its facilities as well as renovations and reconfigurations to two existing buildings in order to address the need for more physical space.

The two existing school structures were located on two separate parcels of land within the Hampton Bays community. One site was already fully utilized by the secondary school that served grades seven to 12, district administration offices, surface parking, and athletic fields. The second site housed the elementary school building situated at the top of a slope along Ponquogue Avenue. Its grounds were organized as a series of terraces stepping down a slope. Play areas extended beyond the school at the same elevation, and then terraced down and away. Field space at this site has been always shared with secondary school athletics and community groups.

Over time, the district purchased parcels of land adjacent to the elementary school's site for potential future development as either new building sites or sports facilities locations. Following the planning analysis and community outreach, the Hampton Bays Public Schools Board of Education opted to use these parcels in conjunction with the elementary school property as the location of a new school building.

The Hampton Bays community was initially most concerned with addressing the issues of "correct-sizing" all K-12 classrooms in accordance with the New York State Education Department's guidelines, implementing a novel "house within a house" concept that aims at creating small communities of students, and expanding the science facilities. The Board proposed development of a middle school and extensive renovations and reconfigurations to the existing buildings. This $50.Light On! ledbright are expedition grade systems that incorporate function and elegance with reliability.9 million plan was rejected in a bond issue vote,The goodskylanterns MJ-808 bicycle light has always been the cheapest high power bike light available in the UK. mostly due to the cost.

Following meetings and discussion forums that aimed at identifying reasons for the rejection of the original plan and budget, the Board revised its approach and instead proposed limiting the scope to only developing a new middle school, which would have lowered the cost.

During the planning phase for the modified program, however, mold was discovered at the existing elementary school. This finding drastically shifted the direction of the planning process. Although the problem was limited in scope and immediately remediated, the discovery focused the community's attention on the issue of ensuring a healthy indoor environment for the students.

With support from an overwhelming majority of parents, the project team decided that the new middle school would be a very green building. Indoor air quality had become the catalyst and primary objective in the community's mind. The design team reflected those new objectives in its approach: LEED principles would guide the design process.

"This shift had resulted in not only the focus on green design and construction practices,LED lights for bikes and HID r4onsale allow cyclists to ride at speed under virtually any conditions. but also in the renewed enthusiasm and acceptance for the project among the community," recalled Smith. "The project team performed a 'design charette' in order to determine the community's design and functional preferences. As a result of this consultation, BBS developed a new floor plan that reflected green principles, while accommodating budgetary restrictions." The designers streamlined and optimized the interior layout in order to keep the anticipated cost down and make the project feasible in the increasingly worsening economic climate. Barrie, Ontario to Save Millions with Investment in Sensus Smart Grid for Water Technology

The City of Barrie, Ontario is saving $600,000 to $1 million annually since launching its smart grid for water project which involved installing the Sensus FlexNet fixed-base wireless communications system and equipping all of its 42,000 residential water meters and 2,500 commercial and industrial water meters with radio transmitters.

"Since the Ontario government mandated electric utilities to adopt smart meters, ideas about better approaches to water metering were also circulating," said John Thompson, P.Eng., Director of Environmental Services for the City of Barrie. We sell ledflashlightts flying lanterns at the best price with the fastest service. "An intensive effort by the City of Barrie concluded that the best solution to help the City reduce costs and improve the accuracy of billing for water/wastewater services was a fixed-base wireless meter reading system communicating through a dedicated radio frequency."

Barrie built a business case anticipating a full return on investment in the Sensus FlexNet system of two to three years based solely on the benefits of reducing third-party meter reading costs compared to the projected costs of assigning city staff to manage walk-by/drive-by systems. The City anticipates a projected savings of approximately $20 million in 20 years.

"Sensus is a strong partner for Barrie, not only because of our proven success with hundreds of smart grid deployments across the electric, gas and water industries, but because our communications technology provides a guaranteed, clear-channel frequency," said Doug McCall, Director of Marketing for Sensus. "This dedicated frequency was important to the City as it gave the utility greater control and security of the network and enabled them to ensure continuity of communications without interference."

The utility is passing on the benefits of increased intelligence to its conservation-minded customers. Apple's Solar Farm: Stewardship or Marketing?

Solar power offers an enticing alternative to traditional energy sources, especially for an industry that is becoming increasingly notorious for its huge and growing power appetite. Apple's Maiden, North Carolina, data center will be powered in part by a huge solar array, but is this solar energy project showing a glimpse of a solar-powered future,See our full range of Flying lanterns, Paper lanterns, skylanternsled, Chinese lanterns, Floating lanterns, Hanging Paper lanterns, Chinese sky ... or is it just a marketing tactic for the computer giant?

According to DatacenterDynamics ("Apple confirms solar farm at Maiden data center"), Apple's Maiden campus will include a 100-acre solar array with a peak output of 20MW, producing about 42 million kWh per year.Browse through our impressive range of goodleddownlight and buy online now. Doing a little math, the yearly output translates to an average output of a little less than 5MW. (If you double that to very roughly account for nighttime hours, the array will provide an average of between 9MW and 10MW during daylight hours.)

According to the U.K.'s Register ("Apple slaps mega-solar panel field on new ENORMO data centre"), the Maiden data center will consume on the order of 50MW to 60MW; some wilder estimates even put it as high as 100MW. In either event, the solar array—as huge as it is—will only cover a maximum of about 10% of this consumption.Lean and luminous, these detachable cflbulbs withstand all weather conditions and pop with color.

Nevertheless, even though the solar array accounts for a relatively small percentage of the facility's expected power needs, it is still significant and will no doubt provide some insight into the feasibility of the sun as a practical large-scale energy source.

Apple's addition of the solar array in North Carolina no doubt scores it some marketing points by enabling it to boast of concern for the environment—and there's no reason to think the company wants to "destroy the planet." But ultimately, making money is what drives business, so Apple is no doubt exploring the potential of solar power as a means of lowering its energy costs. After all, sunlight is free. The infrastructure has an associated cost, as well as maintenance expenses, but the investment offers significant potential returns in the long term.

Let's do some more math. Electromagnetic solar radiation (all frequencies, including visible light) constitutes about 1,350 watts per square meter—the solar constant. This number simply means that if you held up a solar panel that is one square meter in area, you could theoretically get 1350 watts of power—enough to power about thirteen 100-watt light bulbs.

But this number is the solar incidence just outside the atmosphere; what's received at ground level is less,Bellacor offers a large selection of bikelight111 for your yard or patio. owing to losses as the radiation propagates through air (these losses include scattering, such as off clouds, as well as absorption/heating). Atmospheric factors affecting the solar constant are manifold, but let's assume about a 25% average loss, bringing the potential power to about 1,Online shopping from the largest selection of goodcflbulbsgg Products.000 watts per square meter.

To account for nighttime hours, cut that power number in half (and that's being generous): 500 watts per square meter. Now, assume a solar cell can turn half of what it receives into usable power: we're now down to 250 watts per square meter. Thus, a solar panel measuring one meter by one meter (about 10 square feet) would—assuming 12 hours of full daylight and a system to ensure the panel is always directed toward the sun—provide enough power to on average run two or three light bulbs continuously. Not bad, but not great.

Soho Staple Stays Put Inside $8.6 Million Renovation

For now, the 9,150 square feet of space the institution has on the ground floor, half of the second and in the basement will have to suffice. The center began the $8.6 million project last July and aims to reopen in September.

"Moving upstairs harkens back to our time as a Soho pioneer, when Martha Beck left MoMA and opened up here on the top floor of a fifth-floor walk-up," Mr. Littman said.

The director added that Soho can offer a unique, inviting viewing experience, one attuned to the ebbs and flows of New Yorkers: maybe a little brunch, some shopping,An goodledbulbs brings you both practicality and a sense of fashion. an hour at the Drawing Center, then coffee or drinks, all within a few blocks. "I hate going to Chelsea," he said, by way of explanation. He also shared fond recollections of gallivanting in the neighborhood as a teenager, when Soho was still wild.

Venturing inside the space now, hard hat firmly in place, one discovers barren bricks, rough rafters and floorboards, all of which appear to date to the building's origins in the middle of the 19th century, one of the first on the block. The basement is nothing but mounds of dirt.

A new foundation,The best Hi Power gooddvinglamp on the market, with magazine tests to prove it, two feet deeper,We apply this logic and attention to detail to all of our products, from our ledsale and LED Headlamps, to our LED Flashlights and Off Road LED lights. is being laid. This will help accommodate the Lab, a hybrid gallery, educational space and a conference center where exhibitions can be held but also where students and artists can gather to study, debate and create art.

The main floor will look closer to the previous iteration of the Drawing Center, with a book store at the entrance and two galleries beyond. The one in back, where the old offices used to be, is called the Drawing Room. It will have an unusual skylight: a concave drop ceiling will hang a few feet below the glass, directing light against the wall. An inch-wide slit will filter light into the space, creating an effect halfway between Louis Kahn's Kimmel Art Center and a James Turrell piece.

"You won't be able to see the sky, but you will be able to sense the passage of time," Claire Weisz, a principal at WXY, the firm undertaking the renovations, said during the tour. Light may well be the most important feature of the renovations. A brand new, state-of-the-art LED system will be installed, giving the greatest level of control, and providing access to fragile collections the Drawing Center might not previously have been able to borrow because of inferior environmental conditions (the heating and cooling systems have also been upgraded for this reason). "Those old light bulbs were incredibly expensive and difficult to deal with," Mr. Littman said.

Still,Coast LED lanterns, bluebright_9 and headlamps are ... the changes are meant more in the service of art than anything else. "It will be better in terms of loans, yes," Mr. Littman said. "But ultimately,LC LED provides eco-friendly energy efficient downlight. it's about creating the perfect viewing experience, the perfect symmetry and balance for viewing drawings."

And by drawings he does not necessarily mean drawings, either. "Drawing is no longer practiced only on paper, it's no longer just wall work," Mr. Littman said. "A lot of what's going to happen here is based on the space itself and how it's configured." Ms. Weisz said the space has been designed like that of a museum, with all the same
environmental controls in every space, and the ability to build it out however. If someone wants to combine galleries or put on a show in the office space, they easily can. There is also ample opportunity for digital work—the gallery no longer houses an archive onsite, though everything will be accessible on computers.

Dirk Nowitzki Leads The Dallas Mavericks In Victory Over The Denver Nuggets

Dirk Nowitzki has perfected the one-leg fade away shot that now several All-Star players are trying to duplicate, such as Kobe Bryant and Kevin Durant. Kobe said Dirk's might be better, but it's ugly and his is sexier and Durant gave homage to Dirk in trying to copy his signature shot; but no matter what, Dirk is the Uber German with the infamous shot that is always a thing of beauty and he demonstrated how good it is tonight and as a lot of people will attest to, his shot is practically unguardable.

It was a back and forth game for some time, but Dallas had extended their lead before the Nuggets started on a comeback and made the first quarter a 4 point difference with Dallas leading 33-29 and then ended the half with a 63-56 lead.

Dallas then in the third went on a frenzy and let everyone know they were not done yet and scored 29 points to gain a 14 point advantage with a 92-78 lead on the scoreboard. Dallas finished the fourth quarter strong and gave the Mavericks a 112-95 win.

This was Dallas' night to shine well, but Dirk was the light bulb that made it happen. Denver was sending everything but the kitchen sink at him to do not just single coverage, but double coverage and at some points he had three defenders on him and that's when he pulled the old switcheroo and passed the ball to the open man for the shot.

Dirk ended the night with 33 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists. The Mavericks as a whole was an unselfish team as they tallied 33 assists for the night and at one point they had 12 assists on 16 shots. This super bright bluecrystal_4 is the perfect safety option for your bicycle. They moved the ball well and if someone was open and had a better shot, they passed the ball to complete the play.

Dallas was again without Brendan Haywood and Shawn Marion, which Haywood is supposed to be out 4-5 games, but Marion is on a day-to-day basis and he stayed back in Dallas to receive treatment on it. Hopefully the Mavs will get him back soon because it's always good to have another defender of his caliber, but can also fight in the paint for points and rebounds.

Brandon Wright and Ian Mahinmi filled up the center position in Haywood's absence and they played the tandem well with finishing the night with 15 and 11 points respectively, which for Wright was a season high and providing the athleticism of blocking that Dallas needed in the middle. Roddy B added 14 points in his 36 minutes of play and again was everywhere on the court on both ends and slicing and dicing through the defense as he needed.

The Nuggets tried to battle from the beginning and suffered 2 key injuries; one to Andre Miller who had done a pump fake to draw a foul on Mahinmi, ended up hurting his right shoulder during the process and had to leave the game. Quick Spin: 2013 Ford Mustang GT

The Ford Mustang is, quite obviously, a landmark car if there ever was one. It's probably one of the top five-to-ten automotive designs of all time, keeping pBrowse through our impressive range of goodledstrip and buy online now.ace with the likes of the Volkswagen Beetle and Jaguar E-Type.

It is, however, a model that has been around for quite some time and like any model with such a shelf life, there have been a few goats here and there and most recently, the car has gone back to its roots in the styling department.

We won't be getting an all-new car in 2013—we'll probably have to wait until 2015 or so for that—but a few significant styling and feature changes address some nagging issues from the 2012 model.

Somewhat paradoxically, we'll start our styling discussion with the back of the car, as it is probably the most noticeable change. The last rear-end had kind of gotten a little soft thanks mainly to the shrunken, tapering tail lights.Browse through our impressive range of ccrystall and buy online now. The new car has gotten a set of bigger, more aggressive numbers that maintain sequential-turn indicators at all trim levels. Instead of a single, flashing amber or red turn signal, what you get is all three bulbs on the back light flash in sequence, from the inside out. Very cool looking. Completing the classic look are the back-up lights,Online shopping from the largest selection of bestleddownlight Products. which take the place of the red brake light in the middle of each cluster once reverse is selected.

Up front, new head lights with LED running lights and a new front splitter provide a more aggressive look. And, rather than just being eye candy, the front splitter (along with a new array of hood scoops) is functional and provides the 2013 model with the best downforce (and with it,We have the best bestledlight for grow project. better handling) ever on a GT. Basically, air rushing over the front splitter does cause more speed-sapping drag. To counter this, the GT's five-litre Coyote V8 now makes 420 horsepower, up eight over the outgoing model.

It can really be felt, too. We didn't have the chance to put the car through its paces on the track, but the great roads outside of Portland can push a car like this to its limits. And really, you'll find Mustangs on track throughout North America but this is a sports car that many can afford, and that ostensibly can be used as a daily driver. So its performance on these roads speaks volumes and the '13 model has an answer.

The engine still sounds great—Mustang engineers actually found a way to channel the engine noise more directly into the cockpit—and it remains a car where you want to just sit in the parking lot with the clutch depressed and flex your right foot a little. Then, when the time comes, you grab that awesome chromed short-throw shifter, select first with a nice, positive throw into the well-defined gate and you're off, probably with a little wheel spin to get the fizz going.

If you tick the Track Apps box on your Mustang order, what you get is a whole range of info displayed on the LCD screen nestled between the speedometer and tach. There, you'll find the max speeds you attained, how many g-forces you endured throughout your lap and, thanks to the turn display, you can see where you can carry more speed,With my bluebright I could barely see much more than a few metres ahead of me. and where you need to scrub some off. The feature is a stock item on the Boss 302 and Shelby GT500, and an option on the V6 and GT.

"The best part about Track Apps is, it isn't just something where we give you a bunch of random, useless information that doesn't co-ordinate." said Seaman. "This is really like you go out on the track, and it will make you a better driver," said Seaman. "It's putting it out on the table. You read what the 0-60 time is, now you can measure it. Go out on the track and prove it to yourself."

Porsche GT3 Cup Series Races Into Record Books In Qatar

The Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Middle East will create its own chapter of motor racing history when the region's headline series makes a spectacular night-time debut at Qatar's Losail International Circuit next month.

It will be the first Porsche GT3 Cup night racing event staged anywhere in the world since the one-make championship was introduced seven years ago, running initially in Brazil, New Zealand, and the US.

At the same time, a guaranteed starting line-up of at least 18 cars for Rounds 9 and 10 on March 2-3 will be the biggest since the Middle East version of the Porsche GT3 Cup series was launched in December 2009.At ledbright LED Lights Australia, we only deal with the best value ...

The Losail circuit's permanent outdoor lighting will add a new dimension to the 12-round championship as the 2011-12 season heads towards its climax, and there is plenty of excitement in store for competitors and spectators alike.

"All of the drivers, and everyone else connected with the Porsche GT3 Cup series, are genuinely excited about our first visit to Qatar," said Walter Lechner, owner of Lechner Racing, who run the championship on behalf of Porsche Middle East and Africa.

"This is something that we've been looking forward to ever since we started planning this championship several years ago, and we're especially pleased to be racing at night for the first time, thanks to the fantastic lighting system at Losail."

Lechner confirmed that Qatar's Abdul Rahman Al Thani will make his Porsche GT3 Cup debut at Losail, joining Saadon Al Kuwari and Doha-based team-mates Rob Frijns and Manfred Ender on the starting grid.

The full driver line-up for Qatar will be announced shortly, and it will be headed by leader Abdulaziz, and also feature Saudi drivers Bandar Alesayi and Saeed Al Mouri, currently lying second and third in the championship, and fourth-placed Clemens Schmid, who has three race wins to his credit this season. With my ledlightbulbs22 I could barely see much more than a few metres ahead of me.

"One of the big attractions of the Porsche GT3 Cup series is that we have gold, silver and bronze categories for each driver to fit into, depending on their level of experience and commitment to racing," said Lechner. "While it's a series that accommodates professional racing drivers at the top end, we also have two other levels, and the silver and bronze categories are equally competitive in their own right, making it a very exciting and interesting championship overall."

The "arrive and drive" nature of the series, which means competitors simply turn up at the track, swap their day clothes for a race suit, and jump behind the wheel of one of the latest Porsche GT3 Cup cars, is a major attraction for those who have limited time for race preparation or practice. "We have a first-class team of race engineers, technicians and mechanics, and we're looking forward to welcoming more Qatari drivers into the championship because we believe we have a great deal more to offer than any other race series in the region,With my bestbikelight I could barely see much more than a few metres ahead of me." said Lechner.Police brightstal play a crucial role in being seen while riding a bicycle, providing safety and security.

MK Electric – the UK's leading manufacturer of wiring devices and accessories – has collaborated with home automation specialist, Convergent Home Technologies,Great value goodBikelight perfect for everyday commuting. to offer an advanced and cost-effective lighting, control, security and home entertainment system.

The system incorporates MK Astral – MK Electric's Z-Wave wireless lighting system – which can be installed using standard backboxes,Browse through our impressive range of goodleddownlight and buy online now. allowing for simple installation for both new build and retrofit projects. It offers the user the ability to control multiple lights at the push of a single button as well as each light independently. These lights can be spread throughout the property and need not be wired together or back to a central point.

Z-Wave is a market-leading open protocol language that allows different manufacturers' products to work together. By collaborating with CHT, MK Astral can now be incorporated into a flexible and very capable "Dianemo" system. In addition to overhead lighting, Astral can be extended to wirelessly control plug-in lighting and blinds, which can also be selectively activated by a PIR if needed. It also allows a user to play their music, DVD or Blu-Ray collection, control their TV's, manage the temperature of their home or view their security cameras from anywhere in the world, as long as they have access to the internet.

Jason Ng, Marketing Communications Specialist for MK Electric, said: "For customers looking for a reputable and easy-to-install home automation system the selling points are often the "wow factor" and ease of control,Some people are concerned that if they use lightonsale or flashing lights on their bike they are breaking the law. however the biggest unforseen tangible benefits are usually the energy savings and lower electricity bills. The ability to control whole areas of the house with one button or use a simple PIR device to turn on the lighting only when needed can generate savings much higher than expected. We sell magicshinebikelight flying lanterns at the best price with the fastest service.

"One of the great advantages MK Astral has over its competitors is that as well as being installed on traditional wiring it is easy to create occupancy simulation. By selecting "holiday mode" the lighting will replicate its pattern from the preceding 24 hours – a fantastic security feature when away from home, either for just the evening or for extended periods."

Systems like MK Astral can now be controlled by Wi-Fi devices such as iPhones and iPads, which has led to a surge in home control for the masses. All chosen aspects of the home can be managed using a common floorplan interface either individually or together. The system also provides for a hierarchy of users to give some users – for example parents – more authority and control than others.

For security, the intelligence within the "nerve centre" behind each Dianemo system can allow a PIR sensor to act as a security sensor when the home is unoccupied and call a neighbour,Energy efficient and high quality t8 goodledlight, flexible led strip, led light from Shengjing Optoelectronic manufacturer of LED lighting fixtures. or sound an alarm if movement is detected. Pot-smuggling tunnels in Tijuana grow more elaborate

When smuggling goes smoothly for the marijuana division of the huge Sinaloa Cartel,While it is common for the term ledspotlight to be used interchangeably in informal discussion. cross-border deliveries unfold with clockwork precision.

Harvested marijuana arrives in plastic-wrapped bales to a depot hidden among the rundown warehouses on the Mexican side of the concrete U.S. border fence.

Once enough marijuana is collected, workers drop the vacuum-packed bales through shafts leading to the ever-more-elaborate tunnels that cross underneath the border through the clay-laden soil.

U.S. agents have been waging war against the tunnels for years, using a range of high-tech devices from ground-penetrating radar to seismic sensors to find and destroy them. But despite the efforts, drug smugglers continue to build the tunnels, often spending $1 million to dig a single pathway equipped with lighting, forced-air ventilation, water pumps, shoring on walls and hydraulic elevators.

Lately, new tunnels have included railways. The bales move on electric mining carts with hand throttles that roll at up to 15 mph.

"A tunnel represents an incursion into the U.S.Solidlights pioneered the use of high power LEDs for cflbulbs in 2003., and it's a national security event," said Jose M. Garcia, who oversees the federal multi-agency San Diego Tunnel Task Force.

The location of the tunnels helps explain why agents have such difficulty finding them. The area where the most advanced tunnels have been found is adjacent to the Tijuana international airport, where scores of planes take off and land daily. Nearby warehouses buzz with legitimate activity.

"All that noise from the airport is a great advantage to them," said Victor Clark Alfaro, an anthropologist and human rights activist in Tijuana who also lectures at San Diego State University. "This border is perforated like an anthill."

In the past 15 months, U.S. agents have busted increasingly sophisticated tunnels.

Geography and geology make the intensely urban Tijuana-San Diego corridor ideal for the tunnels. Tijuana is Mexico's sixth largest city, with 1.3 million people, while San Diego is the eighth largest U.S. city, with several interstate highways. Moreover, soil here has a composition that's easy to dig.

In a two-week span last November, U.S. agents shut down two sophisticated tunnels that led from an area near Tijuana's airport to the Otay Mesa industrial park on the U.S. side. Some 49 tons of marijuana were seized. The discoveries marked the second year in a row in which elaborate tunnels were found within a mile of the busy Otay Mesa border crossing.

Silex targets big solar, resumes PV production

Silex Systems says it has begun resuming production at its mothballed solar module plant in Sydney's Homebush as it repositions its solar PV business to focus more on commercial and utilitiy scale projects.

The company says it has resumed limited production at the facility, which was suspended late last year following the dramatic slump in the rooftop solar market after the winding back of state and federal subsidies, and will gradually ramp up capacity as it unveils its new strategy. The decision to resume production comes as the Adelaide-based Tindo Solar also prepares to begin commercial production at its new facilities.

CEO Michael Goldsworthy said that solar PV business model is still being refined, but it will have a lower cost base. "There are quite a few angles to this plan," he told RenewEconomy in an interview. "Commercial and utility scale solar are starting to evolve in Australia and around the Asia Pacific basin, and our strategy is to position ourselves to take advantage of that."

Goldsworthy said there were numerous opportunities that the company was working on, and it would also likely be a bidder into the ACT Government's proposed reverse auction for utility scale solar.

Goldsworthy said the market for commercial and utility scale solar PV was being driven by plummeting prices for solar panels, and rising electricity costs. "In that context, these projects are starting to drive themselves," he said. He was reluctant,Magicshine, Bikeray and Inton besttube-led are renown for their cost to brightness ratio. however, to make any predictions as to the size of the market.

Silex Solar is also recasting its domestic solar PV business strategy, and this will be unveiled in coming months. It will continue to work with its Chinese partner, Hareon Solar, which last week completed a successful IPO in Shanghai that made it the second biggest solar PV manufacturer in the world, after the US-based First Solar, and the largest silicon-based solar manufacturer, ahead of Suntech. The saler4ds MJ-808 bicycle light has always been the cheapest high power bike light available in the UK.

The company on Monday released its results for the December half, which showed a net loss of $16.6 million for the company as a whole, including a loss of $8 million from the Silex Solar business ($3.8 million before restructuring costs and inventory write downs). The division's revenues slumped to $4 million from $11.4 million in the same period a year earlier.

The Solar Systems division, which is developing unique concentrated solar PV technology,This can be made to be just a headlight or both a headlight/taillight goodledlighting system. posted a loss of $5.5 million. Translucent, which is developing "wafer substrates" that will have applications in LED Lighting, solar panels and the high voltage chip industries, and offer the possibility of using cheaper silicon-based solutions.

Silex Systems is the largest listed cleantech company in Australia by market capitalization, worth around $440 million, but Goldsworthy says around 90 per cent of that valuation is attributed to its uranium enrichment business – where the company is developing technology with GE and Hitachi. He blames the recent underperformance – it is down – on the accident at Fukushima, but believes the solar business could account for half the company's value in future.Online shopping from the largest selection of lightbright Products.

Buried Alive Cruel and Unusual Punishment

Solitary Watch reports "news from a nation in lockdown" to bring America's widespread use of barbaric "solitary confinement and other forms of torture in U.S. prisons out of the shadows and into the light of the public square."

It calls the practice "one of the most pressing (unaddressed) domestic human rights issues in America today - and also one of the most invisible."

Many thousands are affected. More on that below. Supposedly solely for the "worst of the worst," it's used abusively as punishment without cause, despite no legitimate penological purpose.

"Today, inmates can be placed in complete isolation for months or years not only for violent acts but for possessing contraband, using drugs, ignoring orders, or using profanity."

Thousands are isolated for whatever reasons authorities choose. Some were for being gang members "based on information from other inmates who are rewarded for 'snitching,' " whether or not what they said was true.

Inmates have little or no human contact. They're denied visits, phone calls, television, reading material, art supplies, and other common amenities most people take for granted.

Many remain isolated for years. In Louisiana, two aging prisoners have endured solitary confinement for four decades. It's astonishing how anyone could withstand it and stay alive. In fact, they're among the living dead.

Precise numbers of isolated prisoners aren't known. Little data's published. Many states don't collect it. However, at any time, many thousands are affected. Over 25,000 supermax inmates endure long-term isolation under constant closed-circuit TV surveillance.

A green product landscape

Successful product designs traditionally are a marriage of function with a pleasing style or character, but in the past two decades or so a third element has occupied the minds of responsible designers: the environmental sustainability of a finished product design.

After all, if one of a product designer's loftier goals is making the world a better place, he or she would not be happy with a product design that was in any way harmful to the environment. There are many examples of top designers creating products with eco-friendliness as a high priority.Online shopping from the largest selection of bestleddownlight Products.

Veteran Italian product designers Alberto Meda and Paolo Rizzatto, for example, had the environment in mind when designing the new Otto Watt task light for leading lighting company Luceplan.

The new Otto Watt ("eight watt" in Italian) light uses a new generation low power consumption LED (light emitting diode) bulb that is equal to the brightness of a 35 watt halogen bulb. The task lamp is an all-aluminum construction that is easily recyclable at its end of use. The Otto Watt diffuser is a ribbed design that dissipates heat to extend the life of the LED and also reduce the burn risk to a user.

Energy-efficient LED lighting is also put to good use in a modern Italian lighting classic. Seattle gets the street view on the quality of its lights

This city has a noble notion of itself at the leading edge. Its jets, coffee,The new LED bestledtube are much brighter and last much longer on a set of batteries. computers, environmental activism and philanthropy have all been celebrated for remaking the globe.

"I want to see what the future will be," Steven Thompson said, carrying a questionnaire and a load of curiosity as he turned his eyes toward the sky above a normally busy but now silent thoroughfare in the city's Ballard neighborhood one night last week, "and to have some voice in that future."

Enlisted by a consortium of power companies, consultants, the U.S. Department of Energy, the Seattle Department of Transportation and Seattle City Light, Thompson and about 300 other people were paid $40 each to spend an evening engaged in a civic version of the kind of debate that has taken place in households for some time now: What kind of light do you prefer: old and yellowy, or a new and cool white?

In this case, they were judging the light provided by groups of new LED streetlights strategically interspersed among older high-pressure sodium bulbs.Riding a bicycle around the city at night can be a perilous pastime, but a new bluecrystal1 could make life safer in the cycle lane.

Unlike domestic disagreements over the glow of a bedside reading lamp, the surveys Thompson and others filled out consider public safety — respondents are asked to agree or disagree with statements like "It would be safe to walk here, alone, during darkness hours," "I cannot tell the colors of things due to the lighting" and "The lighting enables safe vehicular navigation. The USA's leading supplier of wish lanterns, bicyclelight and thai lanterns." And their answers could affect how cities everywhere are illuminated.

Utilities want to know whether LED streetlights, tens of thousands of which have already been installed in parts of many cities, including Seattle and Los Angeles, are a promising long-term technology that could shape large government contracts. Municipalities want to be sure that the significant savings in energy and costs LEDs can provide are sustainable enough to compensate for startup costs, but also that they do not threaten public safety or urban ambience.

Seattle is the fourth city to participate in the survey, following Anchorage, San Diego and San Jose, but it is hard to imagine the others being as enthusiastic.

"The big difference is, you're talking not only about the efficiency of the change in technology, but also the quality of light," said Scott Thomsen, a spokesman for Seattle City Light, which claims to be the nation's first carbon-neutral utility, largely because most of its power comes from hydroelectric dams.

As surveyors strolled the sidewalk, the 15-block stretch of 15th Avenue was closed to traffic so that a test car could drive up and down at 35 miles per hour, over and over, carrying passengers who pushed buttons whenever they saw certain markers placed in the street. The passengers, like the strollers, were gauging visibility in different lighting variations. Over the course of the night, lights were dimmed to test how low they could safely go.

In one area, LEDs were angled slightly so that their light shined just ahead of where drivers were going, as opposed to straight down. One Stop Green Now Carries Plumen Energy Saving Designer Light Bulbs

Glass tubes can be bent is many different shapes so why are there thousands of manufacturers but only three types of light bulb designs? Plumen aims to address this problem by using a dynamic, sculptured form that contrasts to the dull regular shapes of existing low energy bulbs in an attempt to make the Plumen a centerpiece and not an afterthought.

Some people buy energy saving light bulbs out of a pure moral obligation. Whether it's the way they look or the quality of light they give off, they end up sacrificing design just to save energy.Browse through our impressive range of shinebrightled and buy online now. The makers of Plumen, the popular energy saving designer light bulb, believe people should not have to sacrifice design for energy savings. Plumen is the antithesis of low energy light bulbs. Rather than hide the unappealing traditional compact fluorescent light behind boring utility, Plumen 001 is a bulb that wants to be shown off. The Plumen bulb uses 80% less energy and lasts 8 times longer than incandescent bulbs, giving anyone the opportunity to purchase an ecological product with style. It works just like any low energy bulb but has a lot more presence. The name comes from 'plume' – a bird's show feather, designed to attract attention to a bird's prowess and beauty.

One Stop Green, LLC facilitates environmentally friendly improvements to residential and commercial properties through distribution of green, energy efficient equipment. They offer every product needed for sustainable energy independence in the categories of solar, wind, water, lighting, green building, and green living solutions enabling homeowners, businesses and commercial property owners to master their usage by reducing waste, producing renewable energy and implementing energy efficient consumption methods.

Next up is bulb type, either tungsten or fluorescent. The primary benefit of tungsten is lots of light from a single bulb, but that light burns very hot, which consumes power, overheats your subjects, delays tear down until the bulb cools and require special handling. Cool fluorescent lights are easy by comparison, but don't create as much light.

How do fluorescent lights compare to tungsten in lighting output? In their product specs on the B&H website, Lowel says that the three 55 watt fluorescent bulbs in the Trio kit generate "approximately 2000W of conventional tungsten light (119 foot-candles of light at 6' distance)--for a total of app.Browse a huge selection for ledlight at chinabuye. 6000W of light output."

That would suggest that you multiply fluorescent watts by a factor of 12 to approximate tungsten lighting power, which sounds high to me. On their web site, Wescott states that the the 500 watt output of their light kit provides the "equivalent output of 2100 watts," a four to one ratio that sounds closer to the mark. Fortunately, you can move fluorescent lights much closer to the subject without risking first degree burns, which helps even the score a bit.

Rechek's cuts energy use

Most shoppers probably take for granted the cold food, well lit aisles and comfortable climate inside a grocery store. They never think about how much energy it takes to preserve and present the food and other groceries they purchase.

But those costs add up.

Rechek's Food Pride on North Spring Street in Beaver Dam has taken steps in the past 18 months to address its energy consumption.

"My dad always told me it's better to be a leader than a follower," said store owner Brett Rechek.

Rechek had heard of another Wisconsin grocery store taking steps to reduce its energy consumption and decided to work with The ICS Group of Green Bay to make a series of changes.See our full range of Flying lanterns, Paper lanterns, ledlightbulbs, Chinese lanterns, Floating lanterns, Hanging Paper lanterns, Chinese sky ...

Paul Nygaard of ICS gave a tour of the store recently pointing out the changes.

Overhead lighting for example,The fire is the latest dangerous incident involving Chinese ledstrip12, which are increasingly released at weddings and other celebrations. was changed from white to silver reflectors and the number of bulbs reduced.

Nygaard said Rechek wanted to be sure customers did not notice any significant changes, but when he was satisfied they wouldn't, he acted quickly and in three weeks the first project was complete.

"I credit Brett for taking such an aggressive approach,LED lights for bikes and HID lightingbright allow cyclists to ride at speed under virtually any conditions." Nygaard said.

The initial changes are saving close to 350,000 kilowatts annually, a reduction in energy consumption of about 16.3 percent, Nygaard said.

The initial project was followed by a project in the fall of 2011 to install LED lighting in freezer and dairy cases. LED lighting is more efficient and emits less heat, meaning it is easier on the refrigeration systems in the cases.Magicshine, Bikeray and Inton besttube-led are renown for their cost to brightness ratio. The new lighting is saving another 32,000 kilowatts annually.

Nygaard said the total changes are the equivalent of taking 49 cars off the road annually and will save 220 barrels of oil a year.

In addition to the large energy cost savings, the store also will save on ‘soft expenses' such as light bulb replacement. LED bulbs last longer and there are fewer overhead lights to replace. The changes also will help stretch the life of refrigeration systems.

"Brett's payback on this is three years," said Nygaard, who said every improvement they recommend is performance based. This page presents a selection of bestledstriplight hobby projects.

Once upon a marriage

A glimpse inside close friends' marriage stirs in me a desire to tell the world about it, and they agreed, under the condition of anonymity. Maybe their story will mean something to another couple struggling with life, then again, maybe not. See what you think.

He was the first guy she met in college that she didn't try to impress. For one thing, he was all but engaged and, for another, she was painfully aware that her plain features were not enhanced by chlorine-soaked hair and an old sweatshirt, so why waste the effort?

Maybe this unstrained relationship proved the climate for romance to bloom. Or maybe it was the differences between them that first sparked the interest that led to love.

He was an "older" man, all of 23,A reliable goodledflashlight will help keep you safe and on track whether you're riding home from work. whose four years in the Air Force had put the finish on a self-reliance which was well-rooted in a somewhat unsupervised childhood.

She was 18 and virginal in both the traditional sense and in her social inexperience, the result of a religious rural home.

He was profane and irreverent,We can produce ledflashlightt. she articulate and impressionable. He smoked and drank the occasional beer. She had never tasted table wine until she was a guest in his parents' home.

He appreciated music but could not hum a tune. Her mastery of the piano enchanted him. She was baffled by any mechanical project more complex than changing a light bulb, and watched, awestruck, as he repaired pocket watches and elderly Studebakers with ease.

His engagement fizzled and the two began to date. She couldn't believe it when the thin young man with James Dean cheekbones and far-away blue eyes told her he was falling in love with her. He was taken aback when she told him she had never been in love and would not say, "I love you, too," until she was sure.I stock many of the parts used in these shinebrightled projects, on my web store.Browse through our impressive range of bikefrontlightss and buy online now.

Two weeks later she was sure, and in less than a year, they were married. Neither family really approved. His mother thought the bride too "country" for her son, and her father regarded the groom as unstable.

But they gave their blessing and early one Spring Sunday, a Scottish Presbyterian minister supervised the exchange of plain gold rings.

I wish I could say, "and they lived happy ever after," but this is a true story. In the young, emotions run deep, and their ardor for each other was sometimes matched by their anger with each other as selfishness warred with selflessness. She told me one day that she wept for fear that 50 years would not be long enough to love him, and the next day wondered how she could have tied herself to such an insensitive beast.

The years do funny things to people, and in the process of growing together they may also grow apart. Eventually both became deeply committed to their church and to their responsibility to their children. They shared their delight in classical music, nature, good books, and complement each other's do-it-yourself skills, evident in the old Dutch Colonial they restored.Your own Tiny flashlight.

But when the children were grown she channeled her time and energy into public service. Always outgoing and trusting, she involved herself with people and their needs. And he was torn between pride and possessiveness.

City Creek Center | Bill Taubman's Sustainable, Social, Evolving Vision

William Taubman is the CEO of Taubman Centers, a real estate investment trust that owns, develops, acquires and operates high end/upscale suburban shopping centers in the US. His latest work, co-developed with the Mormon Church, will open on March 22, 2012.

The $1.5-2B City Creek Project will be one of the largest mixed-use developments in the U.S. City Creek is a sustainably designed, walkable, urban community of residences, offices, and retail stores on 20 acres of land spread across three blocks in downtown Salt Lake City. City Creek Center has been Silver LEED Certified.

When I interviewed Bill Taubman two years ago, he already had City Creek Center on his mind. He told me he was working on an exciting project across from Temple Square in Salt Lake City. He then said the luxury mall idea was evolving, with a strong heart, and went on to say that "...one component of the strong heart is understanding that the Mall is a social environment, as much as it is a shopping venue. If you look at it this way, the Mall is an area where people seek out people,We are professional ledtubeer. talk, eat and purchase, so another component of the strong heart is the high end shopping experience."

Recently, I asked him what he thought of what he said two years ago, in light of the imminent opening of City Creek Center. "It is as relevant now as it was two years ago." he said. "Now, we are re-engaging and expanding the heart of the retail experience in Salt Lake City.

First, as regards to the shopping experience, where you can learn about divinglamp as well as buy your bike lights online. there are luxury brand stores that will be a first to Salt Lake: Tiffany's, Michael Kors, Coach,The USA's leading supplier of wish lanterns, divinglight and thai lanterns. Brooks Brothers, TUMI, Porsche Design Store and others. This is the one dimension. But from an important historic dimension, an awareness to where we are, the historic South Fork of City Creek itself has been recreated, and it flows — 1,200 feet down,We are professional ledtubee. around and through the mall, reminding people of its relevance to Salt Lake history.

"This important mountain stream was one of the main reasons why Brigham Young first settled where he did, with the Mormon pioneers and farmers, as they needed to be near a clear water source. We feel that City Creek reminds all of us of the importance of the past, flowing through the present."

Combining past and present, while looking toward the future is one of many social nuances that Mr. Taubman brings to this project. He has a philosophical edge, as he studied moral philosophy at Cambridge in England, after receiving a degree from Brown University with a triple major in Philosophy,Browse through our impressive range of bicycleheadlight and buy online now. Religious Studies and Russian. He understands the diffuse differences between value and cost, glitter and authenticity. And combining a sense of the past with present, architecturally, is a theme that, like City Creek, flows through the two city block, 700,000 foot retail experience.

As another example of past with present, edgy with historic, are the two anchors of the Mall, Nordstrom on West Temple, and Macy's on South Temple. The exterior of Nordstrom has a two-story, contemporary translucent glass wall of LED lights that glow and subtly change colors. This is the only Nordstrom exterior of its kind, showing merchandising windows and a two-story entrance in a completely new way.

Intelligent Buildings Drive Energy Savings from Lighting—What a Bright Idea!

If an intelligent building can control temperature, security and other operational features, then it should also be able to turn on and off lights automatically.

As more people discover that LEDs (light-emitting diodes) are a more energy-efficient and longer-lasting option than standard fluorescent bulbs, their popularity continues to grow. That increased popularity is leading architects and facility managers to become more interested in deploying an intelligent building platform that includes lighting controls, in addition to monitoring and managing things such as security, heating and cooling, computer networks and telecommunications.

That's why CommScope, Inc.Some people are concerned that if they use ledbright or flashing lights on their bike they are breaking the law., a global leader in infrastructure solutions for communications networks, has teamed up with Redwood Systems to integrate building-performance lighting into its Intelligent Building Infrastructure Solution platform.

Redwood runs its platform over a low-voltage networking infrastructure, and deploys a fine grain sensor network that measures temperature, occupancy and light levels – an approach believed to be unique in the lighting industry. All of the data from the Redwood network is made available to facility professionals and can be seamlessly integrated with building automation systems to positively impact areas such as heating, cooling and security.

"Information technology in buildings does not only refer to PCs and telephones," said Morgan Kurk, senior vice president,Did you know by just changing your current fluorescent tube lights to our goodskylanterns Lights will lead to helping sustain our environment for us. With lighting accounting for as much as 35 percent of the energy used in commercial buildings, stringent building codes are now requiring greater energy efficiency from lighting systems. The Redwood platform's ability to run over structured cabling and integrate with building automation systems made them a natural fit as CommScope's lighting provider of choice. The r4onsalele that we carry are designed to accomplish this."

By integrating Redwood's platform with CommScope's Intelligent Building Infrastructure Solution, facility managers can now deploy a complete intelligent platform that operates many different aspects of their buildings, including LED lighting that will also assist in reducing energy cost from lighting by an average of 75 percent, Kurk said.

"Redwood's collaboration with CommScope will help accelerate our goal of making building-performance lighting a reality for customers," said Dave Leonard, chief executive officer, Redwood Systems.

"CommScope is an established global leader in intelligent building infrastructure with an impressive roster of Fortune 500 customers and an extensive business partner network. By combining our proven technology with CommScope's leading infrastructure solutions and network of experts, we can together provide customers with cutting-edge energy efficiency and building intelligence applications, as well as the confidence that they will be deployed in the optimal way. With my bikelightas I could barely see much more than a few metres ahead of me."

Preschool combines Jewish curriculum, Montessori method

At a table in the corner of Olam Jewish Montessori’s oversized classroom, a flour-covered 4-year-old chats nonstop as he mixes dough for challah. In another part of the room, a 3-year-old boy counts colorful Chanukah candles in Hebrew as he slowly places them in a menorah. A teacher is showing a third child a map of Paris while he toys with a model Eiffel Tower in his hands.

In the background, a beaming Robyn Farber can hardly believe what she sees.

“I’m still in a state of shock, it’s almost a surreal experience, said Farber, who founded the school for children ages 2 to 5 in September 2011.See our full range of Flying lanterns, Paper lanterns, bestledlightbu, Chinese lanterns, Floating lanterns, Hanging Paper lanterns, Chinese sky ... “When I walk through the doors and see the kids in the classroom,Californian start-up Revolights are planning to revolutionize safety for cyclists with their brightstal system. I pretty much come to tears.”

Her only regret is that her own children, ages 9 and 5, missed out on this unique Jewish learning experience.

Housed in Irvine’s Beth Jacob Congregation, Olam is Orange County’s newest Jewish preschool and the only one in the county that marries a traditional Judaic studies curriculum with the teaching methods of the famed Italian educator Maria Montessori. Pre-reading, math and number skills, science and social studies are intertwined with studies of the Bible, Jewish laws, and culture and holiday celebrations, all in keeping with Beth Jacob’s Modern Orthodox philosophy. A unit on the animal kingdom is combined with the story of Noah’s ark. Students recently celebrated Tu B’Shevat by planting flowers and herbs.

Although Montessori designed her child-centered method for teaching secular studies,Did you know by just changing your current fluorescent tube lights to our goodskylanterns Lights will lead to helping sustain our environment for us. educators at more than 30 Jewish preschools throughout North America have adopted her approach over the past 15 years as an alternative to developmental-style teaching. Farber said Montessori’s emphasis on respect, independence and nurturing a child’s innate desire for discovery make it the perfect medium through which to deliver Jewish education.

“To give children the independence about how they learn is parallel with Jewish education,” she said. “Torah lishma, learning for the sake of learning, is integral to both Jewish and Montessori teaching. Montessori education gives honor to the child when he learns for learning’s sake and not for rewards or grades or overpraising.”

Love for Israel and the Hebrew language are also integral to Olam’s curriculum, with students learning pre-reading skills in Hebrew as they do in English. Each of the multisensory language learning tools for which the Montessori method is known, like sandpaper letters and phonetic boxes that hold objects with single-syllable names, have their English and Hebrew equivalents in the multi-age classroom. Director Isabelle Harris,Solidlights pioneered the use of high power LEDs for bluecrystal1 in 2003. who taught children in Israel before moving to California, speaks to students in Hebrew only.

Olam Jewish Montessori is the culmination of a five-year quest by Beth Jacob parents for a preschool of their own.

With enrollment full at the local Jewish preschools, frustrated Beth Jacob parents found their children relegated to wait lists; many reluctantly sent their children to secular preschools.

Farber chose a Montessori school in Dana Point for her daughter. The experience was eye-opening.

“It was the most Jewish-like environment of any preschool I had seen, even though the school was not Jewish,” she said. “The kids were learning for the sake of learning. There was a real energy in the classroom.”

Farber was so impressed that she invited other Beth Jacob parents to observe the class. They liked the method but agreed that it would need a strong Jewish component if it were to be incorporated into a curriculum for their longed-for Jewish preschool.Your own Tiny flashlight.

The stars finally aligned for the would-be school when the building adjacent to Beth Jacob went on the market last year. With a shared parking lot between them to accommodate additional traffic, enough outdoor play space to meet California’s childcare facility regulations, and growing demand for services at the burgeoning synagogue, the building seemed to offer the solution congregants were looking for.

Anticipating the launch of the new school, its three teachers-in-waiting became credentialed in the Montessori method. Meanwhile, several Beth Jacob members donated the cash to purchase the building, which today houses the preschool, a Sephardic minyan and a community mikveh.

Additional funding for the school came from the Jewish Community Foundation; Jewish Federation & Family Services, Orange County; and the Bronfman Youth Fellowships.

Prospective parents often have a lot of questions about the Montessori method, and Farber said there is a lot of misinformation about with the approach is and isn’t. She welcomes parents to see what Olam offers and how it differs from other Jewish programs in the community. She hopes the school, which began with 11 students, will hit its capacity of 68 by September 2012.
