Dubai Municipality organizes workshop within Heroes of the UAE campaign
The launch of this program is in terms of the Municipality's keenness to increase the environmental awareness of staff on topics relating to conditions of climate, energy and environment. Eng. Hussein Nasser Lootah, Director General of Dubai Municipality and a number other senior officials of different departments were present on the occasion.

Eng. Lootah said that Dubai Municipality is the first government department in the Emirate of Dubai joined in the Corporate Hero Program of the 'Heroes of the UAE' campaign, which was announced during the meeting, by registering in the campaign's official website.
Explaining the reasons behind the campaign, Mrs. Ida Tillich Deputy Chairman of EWS said, "We are on the brink of a global 'ecological credit crunch', whereby we are using natural resources faster than our planet can supply them. In the UAE, not only we are at risk of using more energy than we can supply, but by burning so many fossil fuels we are contributing to climate change. This will have a huge impact on lifestyles, coastal landscapes and natural heritage of future generations.
