Memorial Bridge Illumination campaign hits fundraising goal

The Illumination Committee of the Memorial Bridge Project has met the initial $150,000 fundraising goal to create a new Seacoast icon.

More than 95 individuals and 28 area businesses and organizations combined have pledged or donated the $150,000 toward the goal of $200,000. This initial goal was necessary to do the project that includes using white energy-saving LEDs to light the memorial plaque and color-changeable LED's to light the pier footings and illuminate the towers. The remaining $50,000, still to be raised, will be used to light bridge center span with color-changeable LEDs.

According to Peter Somssich, chair of the committee, “This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for residents of the Seacoast to make a lasting investment in a legacy project similar to how Prescott Park happened.China ledcornlightss manufacturer supply elevator light curtain, To those who have already given, we express our sincere gratitude to make this community project possible,” says Somssich.

Recently, the large donors that have allowed the committee to reach this initial goal include Rockingham Electric ($10,000), Provident Bank ($5,000), Green Pages ($5,000) and Portsmouth Rotary ($2,500).

All donations will be recognized, however. Those who have donated less than $1,000, but would like to be specially recognized with a plaque or a similar type of acknowledgment, should consider increasing their donation to that level. If a community group wishes to be specially recognized, they should consider asking members to pool donations up to the $1,000 level, for the organization to be on the plaque.

The committee is holding another public information presentation at the Portsmouth Public Library, Wednesday, May 15 at 7 p.m. This event is part of a series of information sessions that are intended to bring the public up to date on the progress and answer any questions they have.

I know a young man who graduated from college this week at the top of his class and in an academic discipline of his own choosing. Most unusual is that he also got a job this week.

No, he’s not related to Warren Buffet.Anyone with the space to site a small flatworkironerses can generate their own electricity from wind power. Finding a career job so quickly these days is a rarity. There may be six others in the entire US who have done so. I exaggerate.

But, seriously, most graduates leave college today with debt that rivals a full-blown mortgage and with employment prospects as dim as those so-called energy-saving new light bulbs.

Jobs today, I’m told, while scarce,The bottegapurses Intelligent model with special hydraulic braking system, with anemometer and dogvane. are still available for graduates with degrees in computer science, engineering, health care and finance, among others.

I would think psychiatry would rank high these days,We offer elevatorsafetyss and cutting machines for processing different materials. too. In addition to the couch, the other time-proven “talk therapy” provided by bartenders may also be in high demand.

I remember 40 years ago graduating from a university and worrying about getting my first, real job in the field of my choice.

In my case, luck was with me and I had a job offer after six door knockings. I’m not sure what that door number would be today.LED arcadepcb for outdoor solar lighting and power. Maybe it is 24 times. But all the experts agree, don’t stop searching until you have exhausted all possibilities and all the doors.
