Lighting Market, the new portable light collection of the company offers 40
light fixtures, which imbibe the flair, quality and fine detailing associated
with any other lighting product from the company.
The portable lights add flexibility and beauty to a space, with a new concept of light, which is not an extension to any product. The lights have transitional design with a modern twist. The lighting in portable segment include Delano and Roslyn table lamps, which are noted for their exquisite use of fine crystal. Both the lamps have elegant ornaments on top. The shade is made of eco-paper and features French wire, which is well-concealed behind the lamp.
The Roslyn light boast simplified circle, while Delano has streamlined obelisk shaped base. The lights can be matched with any type of decor, colour palette and aesthetic style.
Another member of the series is Aston table lamp, which is an interpretation of the modernist Bauhaus design of the 1930s decade. The lamp has striking silhouette, shiny stainless steel composition and has been detailed in black. Aston is fully adjustable and anchored by a dual-weighted arm. The design combines both fragility as well as masculinity, which makes it suitable for a variety of environments.
The collection also includes two floor lamps, namely Danby and Burke. Danby has a streamlined shape and minimal details, which mimics the cool elegance of art deco. It has a practical swing arm, which enables the users to adjust the lamp as per their needs. The Burke has an elegant shape and solid squared off base.
SYDNEY’s beloved Gowings and State Theatre buildings begin a new life this Monday as the fashion forward QT Sydney.
The scene is set by a streamlined art deco sign above bustling Market Street where dapper porters, sporting berets and jeans, wait on the pavement.
This is hotel as theatre. Staff have been cast not recruited, and all front of house personnel, from the bowtie-clad concierge to the red wigged “Directors of Chaos” visit hair and make up each morning before clocking on.
And “uniforms” are courtesy costume designer Janet Hine (the woman behind Dame Edna’s final frock).
The hotel’s 200 guestrooms occupy the building above the State Theatre and the old Gowings department store linked through the first floor lobby. Entrance is via the glittering former State Theatre shopping arcade where even the lifts get in on the act,Get outdoor lighting, including popular patio lights and goodchandelier fixtures. kitted out with LED digital art (a feature throughout the hotel) and adjusting muzak according to the number of passengers on board (solo travellers might be serenaded with ‘Are you Lonesome tonight?’).
Local designers Nic Graham and Shelley Indyk have teamed up to deliver playful, stylish but eminently comfortable interiors that incorporate many of the buildings original features (a century old urinal in the men’s loo for example) and take into account the specific idiosyncrasies of each individually styled guest room.
The low ceilinged lobby is scattered with bespoke furniture and dominated by an installation of vintage luggage.
