UNIMAID inaugurates 50 projects

Babangida who was the chairman of the special convocation ceremony and the launching of the N50 billion ABU Phase 11 Development Fund at the weekend, urged Nigerians,Trade platform for washerextractor77 and global Women's Shoes buyers. particularly northerners to ensure that they contributed toward the development of education in the region and save it from collapse.

He stated: "It is hardly an exaggeration to say that the security and developmental challenges Nigeria is confronting today are in many ways attributable to the declining fortunes of the education sector in the country."

For Nigeria, therefore, upgrading the investments in education of our children has become an even more urgent imperative. For the individual Nigerians, making contributions to the education sector has become a matter of enlightened self-interest. The security, peace and progress we aspire for ourselves and our families are not attainable if the majority of the citizenry remains locked in the traps of ignorance and poverty.

The choice before us, therefore, is stark; opt for peace, progress and happiness by contributing to the proper education of the younger generations of Nigerians, or invite anarchy that would end up consuming us all.

"We must,Waterproof lawnlight Lighting is a perfect architectural LED light for homes. therefore, not only insist that our governments at various levels wake up to the challenges in the education sector, but we must also as individuals find ways of making our own contributions to this great task."

Babalakin said that the inauguration of the projects confirmed the thought process and wish of the President President Goodluck Jonathan that universities, henceforth, should demonstrate the ability to run their own affairs and improve revenue.

The ceremony, held at the university campus, in Maiduguri, at the weekend, also witnessed the inauguration of several new faculty buildings, including that of Clinical Sciences,This web site tells you how to make a set of blades for a small bicyclelight using PVC pipe. Babalakin had earlier,Conergy manufactures solar modules and distributes well-known modernlamps brands. on Thursday, inaugurated a 66-room, ultra-modern hotel, built by the university, on a long-abandoned parcel of land, during his tenure as pro-chancellor.

Among the projects executed by the Babalakin-led council are provision of 20 hours electricity a day in the university, development of an e-library, road expansion, and provision of street lighting.

He noted that with these achievements, members of the UNIMAID Governing Council have "demonstrated that with unity, commitment and dedication, a lot can be done in the university environment with scarce resources."

He further observed that the achievement of the council was "not a product of abundance, as we have no money. Rather, our achievement is premised on a total commitment of council and management to the frugal expenditure and protection of every resource."

Babalakin, who expressed his delight, while inaugurating the Faculty of Pharmacy, added: "I must immediately confess that I am overwhelmed by the extent of this new infrastructure. It demonstrates clearly the far-sightedness of the council and management of this university. As mentioned by the Vice Chancellor, it is the first College of Pharmacy in the Northeast. It is our fervent belief that the completion of this project will boost rapidly the teaching of Pharmacy in the region and the whole of Nigeria in particular."

The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Mohammed Daura, said that the university management was proud of the council, led by Babalakin, "for its commitment and support, for four years of prudent management and four years of unprecedented development in UNIMAID. The projects are more than 50. It is to the credit of this council that there is no abandoned project on campus."
