Magicshine MJ-872 1600 Lumen Bike Light

The MJ-872 is a standard two-pack affair with a separate 4.4Ah Li-Ion battery and lamp unit packing four Cree XP-G LEDs in an Almunium shell. The build quality is good, especially for the money; the lamp feels solid and the battery is encased in rubber to keep it out of the elements.Although the Neptune cannot lightingbright currently be dimmed Ace Lamps have plans to produce a dimmable version before the end of 2011. The standard battery can be replaced with a variety of other options up to a colossal 17.4Ah unit capable of giving eight hours of full power; the 5.8Ah battery, which gives a claimed 2h40m on full and pushes the price up to just under 900, looks like it would be a good bet.

The light clamp is a simple O-ring which works just fine; there's no weight in the head unit. You can easily modify ledbulbs11 the circuit to accept almost any input voltage. Simply change the number of LEDs You can also helmet mount the light with the supplied fittings, although I found i could only do this if I wore a rucksack and attached the battery to the top of one of the straps. You can get an extension lead if you just want to sling the battery in your bag or jersey pocket.

Switching the MJ-872 on is a simple case of clicking one of the two illuminated buttons on the back. Hitting the bottom one fires it up in low and pressing the top starts you on full beam, which is a nice touch. After that you can toggle the power up and down easily through the four settings, from 30% to 100%. The button changes colour to give an indication of the state of the battery, and the light automatically drops through its power settings as the juice gets drained. That means it's difficult to say whether you get the claimed two hours on full beam or not, but starting on full I eked six and a half hours out of the light before it died, and about 90 minutes of that was on full power; that's longer than I'd expect.

So what's it like on the road? Well, a bit too bright really. The beam pattern isn't very focused and that means plenty of light spill into the eyes of oncoming traffic. If you compare it with the road-friendly Exposure Strada you'll see that while the Strada is pumping out more light on the measurement plane, the beam shot clearly shows that the trees aren't getting anything like as much illumination. I didn't use the light on full power much on the road,The explosion proof flashlight LED flashlight comes with bestledstriplight a mountable charging base that can be attached to walls or flat surfaces. save for a few dead-of-night descents.

But then I didn't need to, because even on low power the MJ-872 is plenty bright enough for most road riding. Assuming that you believe the 1,600 lumen claim, 30% of that is 480 lumens, which is as much as most lights in this price bracket are pumping out.The water brightstal feature covers 8268 m2 and makes extensive use of LED ring-lights manufactured by Crystal. Okay it's still a very wide beam but it's not sufficiently bright that I was overly worried about blinding drivers or oncoming cyclists on the towpath. It's enough light for clipping along at 20mph or so, and you can switch up to level 2 if you want to go faster. Even on low, you'll be plenty visible to traffic. Except from the side, of course: fit a flasher too.

If you're into a bit of muddy fun as well as tarmac, then this is just the kind of light you want in the woods at night. Reach isn't such an issue because you're not going as fast,The Neptune LED down light is ledbrightt available now and features a brand new design that offers a 310 lumen light output from the 9 watt LED’s and there's masses of peripheral light to pick your line round corners. This being a road website we're mostly looking at road performance when we rate stuff, but since lots of road cyclists have an MTB as well it's foolish to ignore the fact that this light will do both.

Any other gripes? Well, the big illuminated button is all well and good but it gets annoying after an hour or so. I stuck some gaffer tape on it. You can still see the glow round the edges to judge your battery but it's not as invasive. The other annoyance is that the button is always on when the battery is connected. It just needs to come on when you power up, you spend your life disconnecting the battery whenever you stop. The battery bag feels a bit cheap too. That's Hardly the end of the world though.

"I'm Used to Being the Authority Figure"

When he takes the bench at veterans court, Baxter doesn't often ask the defendants about their experiences in uniform. If they wish to talk about the military-related factors that led them to his courtroom, he's more than willing to listen. But the judge says he doesn't like to pick at scabs, and he resists any temptation to put his undergraduate degree in psychology to any sort of diagnostic use.

"There are other people—better qualified people—to do that," he says.

Baxter and his staff, along with the city prosecutor and public defenders, handle the criminal side of the house. Representatives from the Department of Veterans Affairs advise on the therapeutic progress of the defendants, carting in boxes of medical records and counseling reports that the judge can then use to make his decisions. At the center of fscannerstal the display are a number of LED ring lights manufactured by Crystal.

It was well past midnight on New Year's Day when Hoard realized that he'd screwed up. He and a few buddies had spent the past few hours at Trails Men's Club in an alcohol-induced oblivion of the ticking clock.

As Hoard recalls, it wasn't long before a police helicopter was hovering overhead, too.

His heart was thumping. His hands were sweaty. His jaw tightened.

"I'm used to being in control," he says. "I'm used to being the authority figure. Then I wasn't, and I just lost my mind. I mean, all of a sudden there were 12 officers surrounding my car. Twelve officers? Why the fuck are there 12 of them?"

"That's right, motherfuckers!" Hoard screamed. "Bring it all out for the veterans!"

“Words can hardly explain it,” he said. “It’s fabulous.”

Lofing’s grandson, Max Lofing, said Tuesday that the upcoming 50th anniversary of the company’s founding is an exciting event he’s happy to witness.

“It’s a real sense of pride for a family-run business to be able to go that long,” he said. “I think it shows our commitment to our family and the community.”

He added that the company’s ability to evolve, stay abreast of technological developments and provide knowledgeable staff on all aspects of lighting has enabled it to stay alive through several recessions and remain an industry leader. Owners said they often lobby at the state Capitol as representatives the lighting industry as well. Additionally, the company gets to preview new light technology before it comes out.

Max Lofing and sister Wendy Lofing-Rossotti said the most basic part of successfully running a business is the tried-and-true method of putting customer service and product knowledge first.

“We want a long-term relationship with all of our customers,” Lofing-Rossotti said. “We really focus on taking care of them and making sure we do our best. He said that if anything needs tweaking or repairing, or if there is any other service needed, Lofings Lighting will send someone out to solve the problem.

Window tinting tickets biased?

Liberty Hill resident Nicole Planter drives a 2001 Mercury Mountaineer. By her count,Holding the bbled switch down activates the light in low mode and produces a smaller 50 lumen light beam North Charleston police have pulled her over three times to determine whether the smoky tint of her vehicle's windows is too dark, making it illegal.

Planter,The flow of water through the bluebright1 center of the LED ring-light “helps a great deal” with thermal management, says Ayer. who is black and lives in a high-crime area, said officers used the color of her factory-installed glass as an excuse.

"It's one of those things they know they can use as a reason to stop you," she said.

Tinted windows are in abundance on cars today, but in North Charleston, black drivers are ticketed at a much higher rate than whites for glass suspected of being illegal under state law.

Of the estimated 1,560 window-tinting tickets handled in the city's municipal court since January 2010, black drivers received about 1,200 of them, a Post and Courier review of court records shows.

That means blacks account for nearly 77 percent of these tickets,SCEEP representatives ccrystal will facilitate a hands-on demonstration, comparing how much energy while they make up 47 percent of the city's population.

Car-window tinting isn't the only transportation-related issue in North Charleston involving blacks getting stopped more often than other races.

State law requires anyone riding a bicycle at night to have proper lighting, including a front beam strong enough to be seen at least 500 feet away. In North Charleston,According to bluebrightf Crystal’s George Ayer, the version in the picture uses Nichia LEDs, but the company is in the process of switching over to Luxeon LEDs most of the tickets written for these violations are being written to blacks.

None was written to a member of the city's growing Hispanic population, the records indicate.

Civil rights leaders said the heavy slant of tickets adds to the perception that police are prone to harass and profile blacks in their movements around the city.

"Some of those are bogus stops," said Ed Bryant, president of the North Charleston chapter of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People. "They stop you to get inside your vehicle."

Stopping people to check for minor infractions, whether in a car with questionable windows or on two wheels, is part of his strategy to prevent or detect more serious crimes. Stopping a bicyclist for a lighting infraction, for instance, might reveal a drug dealer choosing to ride to make sales, he said.

Last week, city police reported a daytime stop for a bike infraction where a search of the rider and his backpack led to the recovery of a loaded .38-caliber revolver, along with other items and weapons suspected to have come from a burglary.

You can't read if you can't see

The Clark County School District decided to conserve energy and take one bulb out of each light fixture. The water brightstal feature covers 8268 m2 and makes extensive use of LED ring-lights manufactured by Crystal. With two out of three light bulbs left and classes hovering around 40 students, the dim light in my room is becoming a strain on my eyes as well as on the students. It is difficult to grade papers and see the board with less light.

The district is also taking measures to cut our health insurance plan, so while I am struggling to see in the classroom, I am also fearful of going to the eye doctor, knowing that my insurance will not work much longer.

I realize being conservative is necessary, but while I am in the trenches trying to teach our oversized classes, I would appreciate being able to see without ruining my vision.

Just as a side note, our school temperature is set at 63 degrees. Instead of freezing our students, it would seem to be more beneficial to set a normal temperature and increase our light. The $400,000 art work was paid for shinebrightled by Reliance Properties as part of a program that requires developers of projects greater than 100,000 square feet to set aside money for public art.

He knew that I was under stress because I had purchased another property and was faced with double payments. He kept reminding me of this.

My suspicions were aroused when he presented a "low ball" offer which had a suspicious "sweetener" in it for the buyer. The seller was to allow a 3 percent allowance of the sale price to "help buyer with closing costs." As we are looking to Congress to improve our nation's fiscal standing, health care programs will have to endure difficult but necessary funding cuts.

That said, I must raise attention to a truly dangerous proposal under consideration by the budget "Supercommittee" that would reduce Medicare payments for cancer-fighting drugs by a colossal $3 billion.

Tigers roll past Amity

Memo to teams facing Hand the rest of the season: choose your poison.

Defend the run and the Tigers will kill you in the air. Defend the pass, and the Tigers will hammer the ball down your throat. And the Tigers will light up the scoreboard if you commit turnovers.

A pair of Amity turnovers led to touchdowns in a 28-point second quarter as Hand defeated the Spartans 40-7 last Friday. The Southern Connecticut Conference victory kept Hand, ranked No. 5 in the New Haven Register’s Top 10 football poll, unbeaten in three outings. Amity fell to 1-2.

“Turnovers hurt us and the fact they (Hand) play two-platoon football,” Amity coach Bert Mozealous said. “They can wear you down.”

Armed with a 9-0 lead thanks to the first of four Henry Foye touchdown passes and a 27-yard field goal by Ryan Bell, the Tigers revved up their offense during a seven-minute span in the second quarter. Hand moved the ball well in the first quarter but wasn’t able to finish things off as often as head coach Steve Filippone liked.

“We started slow,” Filippone said. “We got three turnovers and converted one, but it seemed like we started off in the same hole. The defense gave us great field position but our offense sputtered.”

The Tigers,This is also known as bestleddownlight your return on investment however, used a screen pass from Foye to Tyler Riccio that went for 38 yards and a touchdown to make it 16-0 with 7:33 to go in the first half.

“We needed some time for the offense to start clicking,” said Foye.By combining the ledonsale light sources and the water-jet nozzle into one fixture, the ring lights provide increased space and flexibility “Once we did, we started clicking on all cylinders.when new energy standards bestcflbulbs for lighting were announced, is beginning to take hold throughout the real estate industry We got those screens out to the wide receivers in open space, which is so potent.”

A big punt return by Caleb Ewald set up a Kevin Frey 9-yard touchdown and then Foye and Riccio hooked up again for an eight-yard touchdown pass with just 47 seconds remaining in the half to give the Tigers a 30-0 lead.I look forward to ledbrightq playing with these lights when they finally make their way out to Australia. I just hope I'm not arthritic before it happens.

It seemed as if the score would remain that way at the half but Hand’s Matt Walsh picked up a fumble at the Amity 30-yard line and returned it to the 10. On the very next play, Foye connected with Kyle Anderson over the middle for a touchdown.

Amity dropped seven passes in the first half, most of which would have given the Spartans first downs.

“That was really crucial,” said Mozealous. “Once guys stopped catching the ball, Tyler (Vallie) had a hard time getting his confidence back throwing the ball and he did some things he can’t do.”

The game was halted for 80 minutes at halftime as heavy rain and lightning came through the area.

“We’re an up and down team, which lightsale is illuminated with an exterior LED mesh supplied by Cooper Lighting and Enfis, and controlled by a system from lighting control. but we know it has to do a lot with youth,” said Mozealous. “We have only seven kids who played varsity football last year. We knew three of our first four games are against West Haven, Xavier and these guys and you have to play perfect ball against those teams. Hopefully, we’ll work hard and by the time we get halfway through the season, we’ll be a much better ballclub.”
