U.S. Energy Secretary Steven Chu arrived at Oak Ridge National Laboratory Wednesday afternoon on a quick, nuclear-themed visit that included a tour of the Consortium for Advanced Simulation of Light Water Reactors,Flexible bluebright are designed for cove lighting, halo-lit channel lettering, cabinet lighting. or CASL.
The consortium, also known as the Nuclear Modeling and Simulation Energy Innovation Hub, was created in 2010 to use advanced capabilities of the world's most powerful computers to improve nuclear reactor design and engineering. The CASL hub, led by ORNL, includes partners from DOE national laboratories, universities and industry, who are collaborating on research to improve the performance of nuclear power plants.
After a visit to CASL, Chu also toured ORNL's Manufacturing Demonstration Facility, located behind the National Transportation Research Center in Knoxville.There are 4 types of batteries found in goodledstrip systems today.

Chu noted how computing at ORNL is being used to address the nation's problems and challenges. In a computing environment where speed and power are growing by leaps and bounds,Xeccon S12 is a kind of very amazing Cree T6 goodskylanterns, it perform very well among the various brand bicycle lights. he said, "We are the undisputed leader in problem solving with supercomputers."
"When we do research and development, it goes in a direction where the private sector will pick up," Chu is quoted as saying in the ORNL information requested by The Oak Ridger. "This hub embodies that idea. You're actually trying to solve real problems that will help the industry with the generation of electricity to make the reactors safer and more reliable."
Secretary Chu had earlier in the day visited the site of the Vogtle nuclear power plant in Waynesboro, Ga., billed as "the first of the next generation of passively safe nuclear reactors to be built in the United States."
During his visit, Chu received briefings about ongoing CASL research and toured hub facilities including a 3-D visualization lab. Assistant Secretary for Nuclear Energy Peter Lyons accompanied Chu on his visit.
The daylong trip was planned to underscore President Obama's support of nuclear energy.
In regards to nuclear reactors, Chu commented, "We've launched a program to help with the engineering, design and certification of small modular reactors t hat would run at a couple hundred megawatts and below. A lot of the power sites around the world and in the United States don't have the electrical infrastructure to plot down a one or one-half gigowatt reactor."
On Thursday, Chu detailed Obama's $27.2 billion Fiscal Year 2013 budget request in testimony before the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee. He emphasizedBuy ledlightbulbs22 from online bike shop Merlin Cycles and choose from a range of lights including Hope and Blackburn lights, Obama's commitment to an "all-of-the-above energy strategy that includes critical investments in innovation, in the job-creating clean energy technologies, and in our national security strategy," according to a Department of Energy news release.
